A man I once knew who had escaped from Communist Hungary in the 60's when asked about government "help" would respond ... " Everything the government touches turns to ashes".
Do you really think this is limited to the HRC's? Back in 1990 I was asked to review questionable financial dealings by a newly elected government. Within 24 hours the civil servant who passed us the documents was disciplined and a political flunkie made it quite obvious how much grief the government could impose on us if we didn't immediately return the documents and if we said anything to anyone about the content.
I have no doubt, knowing a few whistle blowers in my day, that the government has the power to destroy a person, if they so chose.
It is just that the hrcs are so blatantly obvious in that department, that it makes my skin crawl that they have existed this long without being questioned.

The HRC's are a perfect example !
If you think of the power the hrcs have in framing anyone they don't like, it sends a chill up your spine.
The secretivem dirty underhanded work practises of the hrcs is something you would expect from communist China.

Heh, they can hook into my wireless anytime (though it is locked) - it's named "Counter-Jihad"!

how about everybody with a wireless router changes the device name to "CHRC-Free Zone"?

Hmmmm we could change the name... but I'm not sure the dogs would be happy to lose CorgiNet.
