After all, it's just free enterprise...

Yeah, sure... once you get past the images of your daughter blowin' unwashed serial freakazoids in a government-owned trailer park... it's all about the freedom...

When there is a demand there will always be someone to fill that demand. The only thing that we are doing is creating an unsafe and often unclean environment for both the customer and the sex provider.
Help me out here... first you take taxpayer monies and set up a medically supervised spa for our kids to fill their veins with poison.

Now you wanna set up whorehouses on the public dime?

I gotta say... that Harper majority government can't come soon enough for me.

RELATED: Speaking of majority government
-- OTTAWA -- Prime Minister Stephen Harper is soaring up as the top pick of most Canadians to lead the country, while Liberal Leader Stephane Dion has plummeted to third spot behind the NDP’s Jack Layton, a new poll has found.

SES pollster Nik Nanos said the results are big news for Harper, who has cracked opened a 20-point lead from his nearest rival in the leadership popularity contest. The results deliver the worst news for Dion, who has fallen 10 points in the last 90 days.

Harper’s popularity is growing in vote-rich Quebec, which is expected to be a key battleground in the next federal election. In that province, 41% said they think he would make the best prime minister, up from 24% three months ago.

I read an article on this a while back and thought OH goody instead of a wharehouse district we will get a wh&rehouse district. You can rest your concerns because there will be councilors available for the "sex trade workers" to vist and get together on how they are exploited by society. Maybe the Johns can drop by and have a chat about why it is they need to have sex with a complete strange too. Group therapy, group hug, group stupidity.

where will all this nonsense end?

it's all too easy to imagine madame steffi and the rest of the fiberal courtesans flitting around... destroying a once great country.

I think you're on the wrong side here. Cracking down on prostitution is like cracking down on sex; a useless waste of police resources that encourages crime.

Remember Prohibition? Remember when the 'numbers racket' was the cause of criminal gangs.

Both of those activities -- booze and lotteries -- have now been successfully domesticated. Legal brothels can do the same.

Or else we can just carry on with houses filled with Chinese and Vietnamese girls lured to this country and then beaten, addicted and terrorized into being sex slaves.

So that's the choice; sex slaves or sex workers working for themselves.

Pretty easy choice, really.

Sincerely,
Frank Hilliard

Sin taxes are quite profitable but they haven't reduced the size of government either.

NDP & Liberal voting moms wouldn't mind their daughters being employed as sex trade workers, it'll get them out of the house.

"frank says... Cracking down on prostitution is like cracking down on sex; a useless waste of police resources that encourages crime."

frank... who said anything about "cracking down"?

you wanna be a human spittoon for all the sociopaths who can't handle a monogamous, stable relationship... knock yourself out.

just don't ask me to subsidize your folly with my taxes.

big difference.

What we're trying to do now is to 'crack down' on prostitution by driving it underground. A legal prostitution system run by the women themselves would generate tax money, not cost it. Just like casinos generate money.

As for paid sex being only for sociopaths, I beg to differ. There are many, many men who will never be able to find a stable relationship, or an unstable one for that matter, and who are thus being denied sexual enjoyment.

I would just as soon these folks had a legal, safe and healthy outlet.

Best regards,
Frank Hilliard

ooooh... you're sounding dangerously like a "nanny-state lberal" here, frank.

who says everybody is entitled to have their every urge satisfied... never mind satisfied by government intervention.

why should i, for example, be on the hook for surgical mutilation of disturbed individuals who claim they are other-gendered?

you've got money and you wanna turn yourself into a freakish approximation of a woman... knock yourself out... just don't ask me to pay for it.

same thing here... you wanna be a hooker... or see a hooker... you pays you money and takes you chances... but don't try to stick me with the tab.

sometimes you just have to play the cards you're dealt.

that, my friend, is life.

Now hang on here, I think you might be too quick to dismiss Frank H.'s point, let's review the virgin sociopath that is cdn/cynic, it's quite apparent this fellow has issues in regards to women and in particular their nether regions. Perhaps a round or two with a skanky bawdy house madam in a legal, safe environment(his mommy's house?) might be just what the doctor ordered...cuz the self-gratification and blow-up doll just isn't making it...
