Brantford police have charged three men in connection with a shooting at the Comfort Inn on King George Road last month that detectives allege is tied to a Toronto shooting that killed 12-year-old Dante Sebastian Andreatta later that same day.

Jahwayne Genisis Smart, 25, of Toronto, Rashawn Chambers, 24, of Brantford and Cjay William Hobbs, 27, of Toronto each face additional charges of two counts of attempted murder.

“I think that kind of talk about sort of, you know, where this all arises from, or sort of who’s to blame, is not very constructive,” Toronto Mayor John Tory told reporters in Nathan Phillips Square.
