Do these people really believe the drivel they spout?
I do wish Canadians would be allowed to vote on expelling Québec from Canada (within its 1867 boundaries of course). I'm guessing the perpetual adolescents of Confederation would find being cut off from the federal teat a true lesson in growing up. And if we get rid of the whiny sods, we can stop the idiotic bilingualism nonsense that ensures incompetent french-speakers climb to the top of the bureaucracy over able, competent english-speakers who happen to not speak french.

As a Canadian I could never really understand the level of hatred between people as displayed in places like the former Yugoslavia or between African tribes. However, these Quebec separatists are teaching me how this is possible.

i was at a book launch once for pj o'rourke in toronto and someone asked about quebec.
his answer was... "you pay up your share of the national debt... and, btw, we're gonna be wanting all those tanks, planes, guns & ships back... then you can go."
