Yes Michael, there is a Senator Clause
And last night, for the first time in gawd knows how long... Stephane Dion went to sleep with a smile on his face...
Michael Ignatieff's leadership woes worsened Thursday, after some Liberal senators effectively gutted law-and-order legislation that the Liberal Leader had supported and the Senate adjourned for a week before the problem could be fixed.A commenter here at the Halls suggested earlier in another post... there was some sort of behind-the-scenes conspiracy to shank Iggy... and I pooh-poooed it.
Now... I'm not so sure.

More pathetic Liberal love for criminals. Those convicted of crimes should not get a reduced sentences reduced. Does Ignegative have no control over his senators?
Yesterday it was his fellow Liberals in the Senate. Let us see how Ignatieff gets kicked in the balls today. :D
Wow I should really wear my glasses when I post ....
That should have read "Those convicted of crimes should not get their sentences reduced."

If, as has been suggested, that a lot of iffy's problems are from Rae's supporters, do they really think people will change their opinion of the lib party with a different leader. How will Rae overcome all these rumors and turn them into a love fest.
Glad to see lib senators helping our PM get rid of the senate.

"maryt says... Glad to see lib senators helping our PM get rid of the senate"
there are times when stephen harper must just feel the stars falling into alignment.
first, iggy continuing the much-ridiculed dion tradition of of blindly running into walls... and now the liberal senators sucking up to criminals yet again.

You know, it would probably be in Michael Ignatieff best interest to start wearing his jock now -

What I meant is taht she is absolutley right here. And she isn't going to be the only left wing Liberal blogger that will be piling on Ignatieff now.
He painted himself too tight into the corner. If he reverses himself on this, of all positions, then he is done for sure. But on the other hand, he can't keep on opposing because that is not working either. Rock, meet hard place. :

much like belinda, ignatieff's real problem is that he is a "liberal of convenience".
he, unfortunately, wanted so badly to be in charge of stuff... he took the first slot offered.
when ambition overides principles... you, inevitably, get a train wreck.
