The Incredible Shrinking Woman

"I don't care if fighting this case costs the feds more than the $2.6 million this woman is seeking from taxpayers. Frankly, I don't care if the feds spend $260 million fighting this case.

I don't want one cent of my tax dollars going to this woman or her lawyer. In fact, the government should seek damages from her."

I think many, if not most Canadians, would agree.

I agree completely . This sue the host country (that graciously allowed your their sorry ass in in the first place) started when they fell for the Mahr Ahar scam
There should be a clause in the "whatever/Canadian" citizenship agreement, If you return to your country of origin for any reason what so ever YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN until you return to Canada on your own dime.
Hopefully that would put an end to this crap

I wish all the lawyers who jump on the bandwagon to get a piece of the action could be disbarred.
I agree, leave the country, you are on your own, Canada will not help you in any way if you get in trouble.
I wonder how many cdns of convenience are scamming our treasury via OAS and other benefits by bringing over very aged relatives. IRuby's bill has brought this scam out into the open.

You should have heard her ambulance chasing lawyer on CFRB yesterday dodging and weaving... and having the enormous balls to accuse the government of 'spin'.

One thing we can dimiss at the start, is that consulate officials targeted S. Mohamud due to racial motives. At some point, all the officials in the consulate would be involved, are they all assumed to be racists?
A Passport to Canada in this part of the world must appear like a ticket to paradise. Officials are digilent of any appearances of passport fraud. Photos published of an entry picture, and the passport photo appear to show 2 different women. Failure to answer the local geography questions does not prove much of anything, but, failure to identify your marriage date, and your child's birthdate suggests that you are not who you claim to be. The consular officials would have had a third photo, the one on the Ont, drivers license, so far this has not been posted. DNA evidence now apparently links Mohamud with her son and with her passport.
Then who is the second woman, the one in the entry photo, where is she? At the very least, further forensic investigation by Canadian officials is warranted.

Are there criminal consequences to this woman if it is proven that she is making false allegations?

At some point even Liberal and NDP 'progressive' voters must get sick of people like her taking all of us for a ride? 'Progressive' people are often angry and cynical but they choose the wrong targets for their hatreds, they should be more open-minded and realize just who the bad people really are.

i've sure never seen any. maybe that's what makes these lawsuits so attractive.

time to draw a line and get serious about this sort of thing.

I expect them to go further and charge her with fraud. Not knowing your own kid's birthday (or the circumstances of his birth) pretty much takes it.

What I can only hope is that the morons like CC and nonny as well as everyone who works at the TorStar will take a minute to think about their unfounded allegations of racism.

But that would require a minute to think: about 59 seconds longer than their attention span.
