A hard week in Afghanistan

Sapper Marshall, 24, of 11 Field Squadron 1 Combat Engineer Regiment based in Edmonton, Alta., was struck while on a late-afternoon patrol through Panjwaii district, 10 kilometres southwest of Kandahar city.

There were no other casualties.
He will be remembered.

Know why there weren't any other casualties?

He was "at the pointy end of the spear" defusing the bomb.

Sappers have the largest testicular fortitude of all men, full stop. I would challenge Neo's assertion of Ezra's gonads against any sapper in the CAF.

My deepest sympathies to his family, friends and significant other.
