Clearly Stephane Dion...

...hasn't fully considered all of the implications of his... "So what, if I'm an awkward, geeky, socially-isolated, egghead kinda guy" initiative.

That useful, productive, socially beneficial stuff... is way over-rated.

UPDATE: That Steffi... what a kidder!

-- WINNIPEG -- Liberal Leader Stephane Dion said today that his Green Shift plan featuring a controversial carbon tax is not a major part of his election platform.

"You have said it was but never me," Dion told reporters.

His surprise declaration follows by a day campaign appearances in the Toronto area where he failed to mention it once in his speeches.
You can alsmost see the Toronto Star Editorial board start to bleed from their ears over... "Dion’s slight change in approach."

LAST WORD: In other "shifty green" news...
"Unfortunately, just saying 'Green Collar Jobs' and clicking your heels together won’t buy groceries and pay the mortgage."

Good lord. Has anyone put Cherniak on a suicide watch?

I guess the Lying Jackal will have this as a "Loser", in his "Clear Canadian Campaign Crap", or whatever it is.

I wonder if I can get in the at the bottom of the market for whiplash collars for the Liberals bloggers...

"jag asks... Has anyone put Cherniak on a suicide watch?"

he's really not aware enough to realise anything is wrong, is he?

This will be like candy in the leadership debates

Mr. Harper will destroy Dion in the debates. Steffi will implode under harsh questioning and direct criticism....unless May butts in.
If the PM points out in very clear terms how the Green Shift will cause a tidal wave of cost to hit consumers, it's a done deal.
My bet is that 80% of Canadians haven't a clue as to how taxes at the prov'l and local levels will rise as they too are 'passed along' tax & cost increases.
That's not to mention the direct flow through costs from refiners, gas & electricity producers and trucking increases.
Time for libs to have their walk in the cold as they try to analyse how they pooched this whole thing.
I hope they spend a lot of time thinking and eat some yellow snow while there.

haha Neoconservative!

That boy is living proof of what happens when you drink the red koolaid....

One of the reasons that I want the CPC to stay in power FOREVER is so that he can't ever get a patronage appointment. He sure has a talent for picking the losing horse though, no?

I can hardly wait for his spin during the next Liberal leadership convention.

Watching Dion perform his Jughead and Moose act is fun but Whooeee!, after the election when the Libs tar, feather and run his sorry ass out of town is when the "piss your pants laughs" really begin.

Neo

So...correct me if I'm wrong but did Shifty and the mighty big red machine introduce an incomprehensible tax/enviro program by scoffing a corporate identity, then engage in a publicity and legal battle with the corporate entity over the rights to claim the Green Shift prerogative, then pay an undisclosed amount for the rights, then announce that the Green Shift is in fact a minor policy.

Cherniak's head has got to be spinning like Linda Blair's.

bbbbwwwwwaaaaahhahhhahahahahahah

Syncro

snigger....snigger....cough....tears....

This Dion really is the gift that keeps one giving.

I honestly wonder how this guy got a PhD because he has not exibited any great degree of intelligence so far.

Or it was my powerful argument against the Green Shift that won him over...

"langmann says... wonder how this guy got a PhD"

as someone who has spent some considerable time slogging through the academic trenches, mrs neo tells me you shouldn't underestimate the "persistence vs native intelligence" factor.
