Too many questions...
...not nearly enough answers...
In ancient Sparta parents used to toss their substandard children off a cliff called the Taigetos. Some may have done so with regret, but Spartan society had no use for physically infirm children.*
We find this shocking.
The year we conferred a medal on Dr. Morgentaler for aborting unwanted fetuses was the year we released Robert Latimer after making him spend nearly a decade in jail for having killed his disabled daughter.
Imagine Spartan tourists discovering that in this country we jail parents for killing incurably sick children, but give medals to doctors who kill perfectly healthy children by the thousands at their parents' behest.

His OoC award has sparked some great discussion, perhaps some good will come of this.
Has Jonas ever spoken out against abortion? There have been many op-eds...'coming out' against this. It's a start.

"anon says... perhaps some good will come of this."
a pretty good point... whatever side of the issue you're on, it's sure put the topic back front and center on the national stage.

Robert Latimer did not end his daughter's life becasue she was incurably sick or because she was disabled. His daughter was suffering almost constant, incurable and excurciating PAIN.
Also, the next in a series of major sugeries planned for her was the removal of her upper thigh bone, leaving her lower leg hanging loose without any connecting bone. The surgeon, herself described the pain from this type of sugery as "incredible". While well-intentioned, many consider this to be surgical mutilation.

incredible.
you wouldn't allow the family pet to go through this type of horrific ordeal... but it's okay for your child?
