Canada was in one of the better positions,. because the previous liberal government put Canada in a good position previous to Harper's government. They resisted bank deregulation, which Harper and co screamed because they were FOR it.
All Harper did, was spend lots, and lots of money. He hasn't really done anything of real significance to strongly affect Canada's position really.

Nonny - I do taxes in season, and I am seeing many grateful clients who now have more money in their pockets, thanks to the Harper government's reforms. Trust me, none of my clients have anything like the Layton-Chow incomes, let alone the ability to claim so much in tax-free expenses.
