Another Canadian falls

lest we forget

Cpl. Yannick Scherrer, from Montreal, was killed around noon Sunday by a roadside bomb during a foot patrol in the Panjwaii district southwest of Kandahar City.

He is the first Canadian to to die in the Afghanistan campaign in more than three months and just the second since August 2010.
He will be remembered.

..."Will of Allah"...
Three suicide bombers killed 20 people in an attack on a construction firm in a restive province in southeastern Afghanistan, government officials said on Monday, with the Taliban claiming responsibility for the assault.

An Interior Ministry statement said the attackers forced their way into the firm’s compound after killing a security guard and then detonated a truck packed with explosives.

I hope the Taliban aren't or will be reacting to our election.

A terrible loss, especially as he is so young.

another brave canadian makes the ultimate sacrifice... a terrible tragedy for his family & friends. i can't imagine the courage it takes for our soldiers to get up every day... in light of these events... and patrol those very same roads again.

and... not to minimise that loss... but here's some food for thought... in that very same time frame... there have been fifteen homicides in toronto the good.

apparently you don't have to be in a war zone to experience violent death.
