"Let's look at the U.N. Look back to Rwanda: fail... Look back at Darfur: fail... Look back at the Balkans: partial fail..." Rudd told Australian Broadcasting Corp. television Wednesday. --So much for that "most powerful man in the world" yip-yap.

UPDATE: Obama shamed into acting?
Apparently, "The One" isn't totally above taking advice...
“The turning point was really the Arab League statement on Saturday,” Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said Wednesday.I guess that bowing to Saudi Royalty thing just needed a little context.

Good news and bad news Neo.
Good: At 5:00 pm EST, the UN Security Council voted to authorise a no-fly zone over Libya, and at 7:00 pm there was a report that a no-fly order could be enforced by an American aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean "at any moment". Last night France and today the US revealed that some Arab states - rumored to be Qatar, Jordan and Saudi - would send fighter jets to help.
Bad: At 4:30 pm EST, people in Benghazi - the centre of the rebellion - reported hearing artillery shells landing, loud explosions and anti-aircraft fire.
Great timing, eh?

he sat on his hands for weeks as civilians were being slaughtered... and was finally shamed into getting off the golf course and doing something by... believe it or not... the arab league.
remember just the other day...
"With the advances made by loyalists, there is growing consensus in the Obama administration that imposing a no-flight zone over Libya would no longer make much of a difference, a senior official said."
how does this guy look at himself in the mirror?
