The Imaginarium...

...of Mark "The Mouth" Holland...

“They were bragging that they were going to crush us in Vaughan with their star candidate,” Liberal MP Mark Holland told reporters. “Conservatives should be worried” that they took the riding by only a thousand votes, he said.

So in a by-election – which voters typically use to punish the government – the Liberals lose a riding they have held by large margins for 22 years in a region where they absolutely must make gains to have any hope of forming a government, but it’s the Conservatives who should be worried.
Ah, yes... the hoary old... "because I say so"... gambit.

How's that workin' out for you?

Mark Holland is a childish blowhard. So, such complicated explanations elude him. Instead, stick to the simple - "You LOST. STFU".

Perhaps if Mark's NDP Coalition partners - the NDP and Green's hadn't all jumped on the "ABC" bandwagon, it would have been a wider margin.

Does he really think that it isn't clear what happened there. There is no way in Hell that the NDP vote should have been under 2% in Toronto.

This was the Coalition banding together to try to keep the riding liberal.

I wonder if it was supposed to be tit for tat - well vote Liberal in Vaughan...you vote NDP in Winnipeg and the Libs backstabbed them.

How come we haven't heard Boo from Jack.

oh neo. Surely you must be smart enough to see that both sides need desperately to spin this as a big win.

And clearly, this isn't good news for conservatives -or- the liberals. At some point, douchebaggery aside, we're just going to have to stand down and agree neither party is a good choice for Canada, and that's a sad thing really.

Neither of them will be forming a majority anytime soon.

If one goes back to a few days before the election it was the un-named lib souces and media types who were predicting a huge win for Julian. Even WK was on board. I don't recall any conservative bragging about how they would win big. And I agree that all the fear about winning by several thousand was so they could spin a close election as a sign the libs are alive and well in Vaughn.
Mark, hopefully, will be gone after the next election.
Wonder how many ndpers voted for Genco. Is that what we can expect in the next election.

It's pretty simple. The Libs lost Vaughan to Fantino not to the Conservatives. End of story.
