Contrary to what you may have heard...

...none of Judy Sgro's kids are actually working as strippers...

Buy a condo for $138,000 in 2001. Transfer it five years later to your kids. Then start claiming an extra $11,000 from taxpayers.

How many of these cozy little deals are there lurking on MPs’ books?
Oh, c'mon now Lorne... the leader of the Liberal Party says Canadians aren't interested in these tedious little details...
Michael Ignatieff, who finds a new way to bewilder the Canadian public every passing day, has offered the perplexing comment that the voters are not interested in the "dinner receipts" of MPs.
Hey, Iggy... I'll give you "dinner receipts"... but what say we take a look at these little sweetheart deals your guys are making with their kids.

So in a sense, Judy, was paying herself rent, to stay in her own house.

Gotta admit that is a sweet deal, however her comments that she didn't know that was wrong seems to conjure up some word in my mind... Yah, fucking bullshit springs to mind.

Neo - does Ms Sgro have another home elsewhere? Because if she had another home aka her 'principal residence' when she purchased the Ottawa condo, then there are serious tax implications when it was transferred to the offspring.

Further, if the offspring had better be reporting the rent received from Mum on their tax returns. That kind of money is definitely income under the meaning of the act, not just the '"rentals" to family members' of the primary residence where nominal amounts are received to help cover expenses (ITA: 18).

If this condo was not her principal residence when transferred, were the deemed capitol gains paid, as farmers have to pay when transferring land to kids. That word DEEMED can be very confusing and expensive to taxpayers.
Her excuse that she didn't know tells us how ignorant a lot of those liberal voters are.
I bet rev canada is going over the tax returns of her family with a fine tooth comb.
Time for the media and ethics commissioner to demand repayment of all money she received in error.

Have you noticed how the MSM is really downplaying this story? Now, if it were a Conservative MP, it would be screaming headline news, day after day.
