Nothing good, I'm thinking

Remember, the provincial Liberals have already doubled Ontario's debt since being elected in 2003...

"Ontario’s experiment will show what would happen if people between the age of 18 to 65, living below the poverty line, received a monthly income of $1,320 ($1,820 if they are disabled)."
Just something to think about as you sit in that Emergency Room for 6 or 7 hours waiting to see a doctor.

RELATED: Have they figured out a way...

...to treat metastic cancer with carbon credits?
The study, an annual survey of physicians from across Canada, reports a median wait time of 20 weeks-the longest ever recorded - and more than double the 9.3 weeks Canadians waited in 1993, when the Fraser Institute began tracking wait times for medically necessary elective treatments.
Don't you fret... if you're a good by maybe Justin will show you his tits.

old white guy says..............the results are never positive when we give people something for nothing. Canada's Indians are a classic example. when this free money starts to flow will cities cut off their welfare programs, will CPP cut their disability payments, will the old age supplement be cut, I could go on but you get the point I am sure. I wonder just what the annual interest costs will be on this borrowed money in perpetuity, because we sure as hell don't have the existing cash flow to do something this stupid.

I think we can safely say that at this juncture in our nation's history we have a perfect storm brewing - an electorate at its lowest ebb of apathy, disinformation-ignorance and focused at virtue posing instead of national continuity - at the same time we have the most malevolent and vengeful forces in society running a government that has grown far out of control of the limited democracy in place.

A national day of reckoning is not far off where we must decide if we will survive as a viable nation or sink into the poverty ad misdery of 3rd world mismanagement.

i've been waiting for the collapse for some time now. the liberals manage to push canada's industrial powerhouse into bankruptcy there will be a bloodletting, financial & otherwise, that will change this country forever.

Neo - when you factor in the "clawback" features of the various programs, the poor end up with the highest marginal rate of taxes. Look at it this way: a person who receives ONLY the Old Age Security (OAS) pension will also receive a Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) of $864.09 monthly. Should that senior have other income (still have some savings and that GIC just produced a $50 cheque), then the GIS is reduced to $862.09 monthly. And so it goes. With an "outside" income under $24.00 our pensioner gets $1,442.62 monthly or $17,311.44 yearly. Get that $50 cheque, and your monthly income is now $1,440.62 (OAS + GIC) for a yearly income of $17,287.44 + $50 or $17,337.44 yearly. Our senior has essentially been "taxed" $24 of his $50 interest income. If I have my "marginal" tax rate sorted out, that's close to 50% on his meager interest earnings.

seniors definitely have it hard... not sure how giving homeless junkies 15 large guaranteed income makes things better.

The social pension plan is the only welfare state program worth keeping which benefits those who really deserve a break from work and taxes - like the other entitlements it will be abused and those who really need it will suffer

**i've been waiting for the collapse for some time now.**

It's close, I heard a leaked source from the Trump camp that to save the US from collapse, he would have to liquidate all federal property holdings and downsize government 60% and use the cash to pay off the debt

I really can't see that happening and when the debt tsunami hits Canada, with no tangible currency reserves and wealth engine stilled by climate fascists - the fall out here will be worse - got my supplies, safehouse and bugout plan

Of course when the collapse happens the scum who orchestrated t will be on jets to safer placers as the angry mobs search for food
