Do as I say...

...not as I do...

Liberal cabinet minister Maryam Monsef could be stripped of her citizenship without a hearing under a law the Liberals denounced while in opposition but which they’ve been enforcing aggressively since taking power, civil liberties and refugee lawyers say. She could even be deported, said immigration lawyer Lorne Waldman, part of a group that launched a constitutional challenge of the law Monday.

The Liberal government has been enforcing the law “aggressively,” setting targets to strip 40 to 60 Canadians each month of their citizenship. According to the Justice Department, 206 individuals have been stripped of their citizenship since May 2015 — about 18 per month.
That's funny... I thought it was all the fault of that secretive, controlling Stephen Harper.

Guess I was mistaken.

RELATED: There's no such thing...

...as "Canadian values" says Spawn of Pierre...
"Ottawa's police chief says the west-side African eatery where a man was gunned down on Sunday morning has been a "magnet of criminal activity" since it opened three years ago."
Well, Justin... you're certainly working on that.

LAST WORD: Remember when you were a kid...

...people were being gunned down all over the place?

Yeah... me neither.
With three months still to go in the year, Ottawa has now tied the record-breaking number of shootings set in 2014.
What exactly has changed over the last few decades? Oh man, it's a mystery.

Rules are never meant to be applied to the anointed liberals.

That icky stuff is beneath their stature.....and if necessary, they'll use the get-out-of-jail card they were issued.

the libranos are famous for that double standard... they do seem to feel that rules are for the plebes... not their sainted political betters.

and of course, ms monsef will not be subject to the rule of law being applied to all the other folk who supplied false information on their immigration documents... because she's "special".

Rules don't apply to those who claim to represent "Canadian values" (tm) - which leave the logical conclusion that rule-breaking is a Canadian value - or at least a value of those who represent Canada ... nope I'm confused, I know it;s because I'm "deplorable".

BTW: Kathy's Taki's article this moth is one of the best ever - she skewers Gord Downie as a Canadian values" rule breaker.

Right on.
One thing I have noticed about liberals, they equate feeling strongly about a situation as being the same as helping to solve the problem associated with that situation.
The more /deeper one feels, the more credibility one has. The kicker is, it matters not one sweet damn whether or not you actually do something, anything, let alone something that actually works.
They all have the memory of a fern and the most finely honed skills of denial and avoidance on the face of the earth.
As long as you emote, you can promise ANYTHING and you will NEVER be "called" on it in the liberal universe.
Gotta go...I'm all verklempt now.

Never going to happen. Monsef checks all the necessary boxes - female, minority and Liberal.

Maybe she and Tootoo can get together and form a disgruntled Liberal patronage party

hey, it's a memory thing... no biggie.

monsef simply forgot what country she was born in... and tootoo forgot it's bad form to bed a young female staffer AND her mother at the same time.

could happen to any of us, right?
