"Did he happen to say who won?"

UPDATE: The good ship Lolly-POTUS...
6:14 pm - In a briefing just now, President Obama referred to the “senseless loss” in Boston due to “explosions”, but did not characterize them as terrorist.
Yup... maybe they were poorly maintained hotdog carts... wait a minute...
"Police investigators had contacted the local gas and electric company and determined that the explosions were not related to gas or electrical service."

"The authorities also found a device at St. James and Trinity Streets that did not explode, the person said, and two other devices were found, including one in Newton, outside of Boston."
Dear Mr President... if it's a bomb(s)... it doesn't matter who set it off... it's terrorism.

CORRECTION: Only two bombs have been found

Apparently, they were pressure cookers filled with nails & ball bearings, gruesome anti-personnel explosives used frequently in the Middle East.

UPDATE2: Dead & maimed children
"One of the two victims of today’s horrific Marathon double-bombing is an 8-year-old, the Herald has learned."
To make this incident even more horrific, this boy's mother is brain damaged and his 6 year-old sister has been maimed.

Wonder if there was any "Canadians" involved like Ryan in Libya.

So if Mittens won, this wouldn't have happened? Speaks volumes about what kind of person you are, using the death of a child as a platform for your idealism. You're a joke.

oh, nonny... you're like a little terrier nipping at my ankles. what a magical world you must live in.

Why don't you address the question instead ducking it with childish snark? Would this tragedy have been avoided if there was a Republican in office? It's you that lives in the magical world, so magical that you even have a make believe name. Awesome.

"anonymous says... you even have a make believe name"

dear joe, er... fred... wait, it's anonymous, right? grab a dictionary... start with the word ironic.

your other speculative question eludes me completely. you might as well ask, would this tragedy have been avoided if there was a full moon?

but let's go there anyway...

"Under President George W. Bush, the Department of Homeland Security had $20 million allocated for preventing the use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) by terrorists working inside the United States. The current White House has cut that funding
down to $11 million."

would a republican government have been more likely to make this cynical cut to security that president mcdreamy did?

not likely.

there's your answer.

FYI, in the picture accompanying this post, it has been reported the guy in the cowboy hat is actually pinching off the victim's femoral artery, and that prevented the victim from bleeding to death...
