FROM THE COMMENTS:

"Yeah, these FeckWits 'lost' a herd of 265,000 Cariboo and then urged the government to adopt the 'Precautionary Principle' based on their incompetence and lies."

I recall that story, I just loved rubbing it into the local envirotards that their sacred cow scientists couldn't figure out that cariboo had legs and could move.

"robins111 says... couldn't figure out that cariboo had legs and could move."

it's turning out that a lot of scientific peer review is bogus as well. you have to publish to get grant money and nobody wants to upset anybody else's apple cart as 'what goes around comes around'.

there's a lot of cynicism and 'i'll get mine' in this endeavor... as in many others.

The WWF is on a donor drive - they kick it off with a phony crisis of wildlife herd decreases - obviously they haven't been to Alberta where they're issuing hunters extra predation tags to thin out ballooning deer herds

old white guy says...........a family friend flies around Labrador and area regularly. he has taken pictures of the thousands of cariboo on the move. we need to remove those people from responsibility for anything other than cleaning toilets.

I know it sounds bizarre, but in another time and place, I was studying to be a wildlife conservation officer -

- studied wildlife science, herd management, habitat creation/maintenance, stream entomology, ichthyology, silviculture, wildlife pathology, etc. etc.

- even then a (at the end of the Jurassic epoch of western civilization) half our profs were old hands who had been active in their fields in the field so to speak farm boys who went into the science for the love of their passion of hunting or fishing,

- and 1/2 were snot nosed city kid bio grads from some proggy U. who thought they knew too much and couldn't understand why the old guys were hunters and fishermen who utilized a resource they viewed as harvest able and sustainable. They thought the purpose of the study was to restrict human utilization of a finite resource

Essentially the old guys were conservationists and the new guys were preservationist-prohibitionists - this theme of wildlife prohibition has dominated to the point I believe wildlife is actually endangered because they don't want to directly interfere/manage in herd sustainability - of course WWF is just a racketeering org who cash in on white yuppy guilt - as Gerry Butts.

On Toronto CBC radio this morning an official of the World Wildlife fund was recycling the story of the 98% decline in the caribou herd as though it was a fact. Some false narratives are just too good to resist using. Said global warming was to blame.
