Neo - lithium was once an ingredient in 7-Up. That was during the Depression, and 7-UP was an EXTREMELY popular soft drink during those years. PepsiCo now owns 7-Up and will - if pressed - admit to the presence of lithium in an early formula but adamantly state it is long gone.
We know a student who used this factoid to write a paper for a pharmacology class. The presentation was a serious discussion of the use of lithium to treat manic depressive and similar states, with a surprise ending when the 7-Up connection was revealed. Where had the student found this information? One of the "Uncle John's Bathroom Book" series. Even the prof did not know.

"frances says... lithium was once an ingredient in 7-Up"
shouldn't actually surprise anyone... wasn't there cocaine in coca-cola at one time?
the difference here would be... you could choose whether or not to drink 7-up.
the government starts adding meds to the water, all you city slickers... (hey, i've got my well)... are gonna get dosed.
maybe toronto could chuck in a little valium and reduce their road-rage incidents. gotta confess... i sometimes wonder about the brownies in the city hall cafeteria.
