A thousand teenage pirates could be criminally charged and brought to New York City for trial and it wouldn't change a thing. There is no other option than sinking their vessels and/or killing them, but we'll put sailors in danger and waste millions before the usual apologists for violence accept that.

The only justice the pirates will understand is a rail mounted 50 cal.
If some of those freighters smoked a few pirates the incidents of piracy would go down dramatically.
