Orwell was right

Some animals are "more equal" than others.

-- Fraser River, BC -- A federal program in 1998 that allowed a native-only commercial fishery a day ahead of the usual commercial fishing season in B.C. did not violate the charter rights of non-aboriginal fishermen, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled Friday.

The Supreme Court ruling upheld the 2004 convictions of more than 50 non-native B.C. fishermen who took part in a protest fishery during a prohibited period.

so the Supremes have determined that it is OK to discriminate based on race.

Now that's a slippery slope.

Shame on the "judges" for such stupidity in pursuit of political correctness.

I think you are about 2 years behind the curve.
As I understand it, the Supremes have MANDATED that there will be discriminatory sentencing by race.
A couple of years ago I saw an article describing a ruling which went something like this.....judges are required to exhaust all other possibilities before sentencing an aboriginal to a jail term.
(I think it was the supremes but maybe some readers can chime in with better info.....I can't remember it accurately as the top of my head exploded on reading it.)

Here's a reference but in an article:-
"The Supreme Court of Canada denied the appeal, but explained how trial judges must sentence aboriginal people. The Supreme Court panel pointed to the Criminal Code of Canada provisions that requires a judge to "consider all available sanctions other than imprisonment and to pay particular attention to the circumstances of aboriginal offenders."

Cute eh?

Canadian racial purity laws are quite explicit when it comes to aboriginals/fractions of aboriginals.

Canadians are okay with this and want to go further with things like black schools etc. New Canada should buy the colour charts left over from apartheid in South Africa.

All I want is a level playing field with one set of rules for all.

Why do we even have a constitution?
Nobody in Ottawa seems to know it exists except for pet cases like terrorists.
