You dummies... it's not the megawatts...

...it's all about sharing how fabulously virtuous you are with all your cookie-cutter baby-bust neighbours...

David Miller, CEO of World Wildlife Fund-Canada says critics who measure the event's success in megawatt hours are missing the point. "Earth Hour has been part of a movement that has made a very real difference and I think this year we have to celebrate that success."
And speaking of "very real differences," remember to leave all your tactical nukes at home... Toronto is a nuclear free zone.

TORONTO — Ontario’s 2016 budget was sent to translators before public consultations were finished – which the opposition parties say is proof the process of seeking input was really a “sham” and a “charade.”
Yeah... I'm shocked.

vanity activism is fun - 'specially if you can do it in a candle-lit 1.2 Mega$$ Muskoka condo sipping a cold Mojito and sharing your moral smugness with your little twitter buds on a gen6 iPad.

To those who insist the baby busters and Millennials have not crashed humanity’s IQ bell curve, I have only 3 words: puppy-monkey-baby http://www.mountaindew.com/kickstart/

Oh BTW, these trendy twitterverse drinks contain BVO a fire retardant banned as a food additive in Europe and asia for its adverse effect on normal cerebral function.

i would invite david miller to explain what that "very real difference" actually is.

it's like when justin trudeau is asked about verbally opposing the saudi arms deal... but declining to actually stop it.

"Trudeau did not specify how his government's approach to such arms sales would differ, other than to say he's committed to 'openness, transparency and rigour around values the world expects'."

that'll be a comfort to saudi university student protesters... as canadian armoured personnel carriers roll over their bodies.

hey justin, will the democracy create itself?

The difference Miller alludes to can be connected to a previous WWF head, Gerald Butts and his influence on the draconian Ont GEA. $37 B overcharging for electricity by Ont Liberals is real all right but not necessarily positive.

"puppy-monkey-baby" still makes more sense than anything David Miller has said

I'm more concerned with any domestic police purchase of GD LAVs or MRADs - they can kill all the Saudis they want in that despotic backwater, but military build up in domestic policing should be a greater concern - particularly with Castro's godson with his finger on the police function trigger.

"Come join with millions around the world in turning off your lights...."
That should read "Come join millions around the world who live in darkness because they have no access to electricity!"

yet another pointless gesture... much like 15 year old girls from rosedale playing at being homeless one night a year in their just purchased $300 sleeping bags daddy bought at mountain co-op because... "awareness."
