Hassan Ali,, 23, a controversial and well-known figure in Toronto’s underground hip hop scene has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder in the shooting death of Hashim Omar Hashi.
Last September, Ali was arrested and charged for mischief after allegedly stopping rush hour traffic on Highway 401 to shoot a music video.

Ricketts explained he has used the name Arez since he was 14, and that he makes “trap” music, a hip hop genre that focuses on drug use and urban violence.

Toronto residents Kevon Shemar Foo, 24, Day Juan Francis, 21, and Jasanthan Kandiah, 21, were arrested on Saturday and have each been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and discharging a firearm with intent.
