"Give me your tired, your poor..."

"Your disease-riddled hookers"...

-- TORONTO -- A former Thai stripper who was jailed for giving her former husband HIV may have found a way to dance around deportation from Canada.

Suwalee Iamkhong, 40, of Toronto, had a bid to reopen her case thrown out last Friday by the Court of Appeal but she did win a reduction of her two-year sentence to two years less a day, allowing her to appeal a deportation order.
Of, course... this is exactly the kind of immigrant we should be looking for. I mean, she's got that entrepreneurail spirit, right?
Anna Pape, of the Canada Border Services Agency, said Iamkhong will receive a stay of her removal order until an appeal is heard. "Serious criminality in Canada is considered as two years and over," Pape said.

Meanwhile, Whiteman said he sponsored Iamkhong and under immigration laws is financially responsible for her until 2011.
Thank you Pierre Trudeau.

He figured he'd put you down by making fun out of homosexuals... there's the compassionate left logic in action.

She can go around handing out death sentences but we have to be extremely sensitive to her rights.

She's the correct gender - girls get a free ride, whether its killing or attempting:

Cases not totally similar, but I guess that's our justice (not legal) system in "action".

"Main Entry: nancy boy

Definition: a homosexual male or an effeminate man; also written nancy-boy, nancy
Usage: derogatory slang"

Sorry, I was refering to your snivelling lack of masculinity, not your gender preferance. But, keep up mounting the strawmen lads. It beats examining your sorry selves in a mirror.

@ Torybaiter: just keep digging the hole for yourself as you put down homosexuals yet once again.

Epic Fail.

Sigh: Methinks this labmann is a touch thick. Or perhaps, quaking in fear of being outed by his right wing bretheren?

Is the purpose of the picture of the gun to offset your effette image in the blogosphere?

"masturbator howls... your effette image"

ah, that's interesting.

you weren't entirely satisfied with tossing around the term "nancy-boy"... so you had to conjure up what you perceive to be yet another offensive homosexual reference?

you seem to be a little fixated, my friend... you should try getting out more... and just acknowledge your true self.

Tell me again, who's fixated on homosexuality?

"masturbator asks... Tell me again, who's fixated on homosexuality?" --

Why do these right wing philistines insist on hauling themselves up on a cross when caught being silly.

Maybe the view's better. I just don't know.

Getting back to the original comments, I do think it's a bit of a stretch to blame Trudeau for this fellow's marital misfortunes and poor judgement. Trudeau had his own problems to contend with. But the financial sponsorship requirements for family class immigration were brought in post Mulroney, from what I remember.

I don't have that much sympathy for the complainant, the news story indicates the pair were married from 1997 to 2004 and the wife danced at Toronto's Zanzibar Tavern until 2004. If he encouraged or condoned this, he is the author of his own misfortune, you don't go fishing in the Rideau canal and expect to eat what you catch with impunity. Now he wants to sue the government of Canada for failing to protect him from the consequences of his own stupidity.
But it's a no win scenario for Immigration Canada, if bureaucrats had stepped in and obstructed his marriage/ sponsorship plans against his foolish judgement, he would have been complaining to MP's, human rights commissions of violation and denial of his basic rights, that he has every right to choose a stripper/ dancer as wife, that her "moral character" should have no bearing on the government's decision, etc.

This being the case, he should accept the consequences of his decision to marry, to sponsor such a person.

yes, anon... in the end, this one... like most other events... comes down to personal responsibility.

but that's a concept that doesn't really exist any more, isn't it?

as for my six-time troll-baby, torybaiter... bobby, if you need a hug, buddy... just ask.
