"No one’s having that conversation"

"If Adam Toledo’s life mattered, why didn’t the people around him value it enough, apparently, to keep him out of that alley? As a mother, I’m asking this."
CHICAGO COPS NOT ROLLING OVER:
“In reality, an average human being could not block someone from slapping him in the face in less time than that … It’s a good reason why the officer only shot one."
"He would have been justified to shoot multiple times."
So, what is the bottom line here? 

PRESUMED INNOCENT... RIGHT?
Roman was taken into custody and, when asked who he was with, initially gave a fake name for Toledo. Later, he denied knowing who he was with. He also denied shooting, saying he was just in the alley waiting for a train.
“He never explained what train would have stopped in that alley,” Assistant State’s Attorney James Murphy said.
