Getting the government you deserve...

...good and hard...
The new normal for Canadians will be unprecedented levels of government spending and debt for decades to come, according to a new study by the Fraser Institute released Tuesday.

According to the Fraser report, Prime Ministers and Government Spending, Updated 2020 edition, estimated federal spending this year at $13,226 per Canadian.

Adjusted for inflation, that will be 50.7% higher than in the last global recession in 2009, and 74.5% higher than at the peak of the Second World War.
Was it worth it, Canada?

OTTAWA — The government will eventually make the “unavoidable” decision to seek new sources of revenues through tax hikes, as policymakers look to offset a raft of recent Liberal spending measures, the federal budget watchdog says.
