Dear Iranian slash Canadians...

First... a bit of bad news...insert alt text hereDespite the lamentations and strident choreographed demands of Canada's Prime Minstrel, none of the rest of us unslashed Canucks are actually in mourning with, or for you. In fact, it would be a little bit weird if we were... like when Michael Jackson spent a long, dark lonely night at the funeral home with the corpse of James Brown.

The truth is, most of us can't wrap our heads around why you might return to the land of demented mullahs and the acknowledged home of world terrorism. Let's face facts here... your homeboy Khomeini was just totally off the chain. All that "Death to the Great Satan America" shit has only served to isolate & impoverish a once flourishing country.

In a way, the people on that plane brought this disaster upon themselves by venturing back into the surreal land of the bearded weirdies who cut hands off shoplifters and sanction the beating of disobedient wives.

It's time to actually pick a side. You could leave all that bloodthirsty medieval theocracy bullshit behind... and start thinking of yourself as a citizen of the civilised world.

Just a thought.

UPDATE: So who gets to be Number One?insert alt text here
On Thursday, January 2, 2020, Ahmed Yakot, 21, of Toronto, died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
His injuries? Let's just say, they weren't kidding around.

REGENT PARK, REGENT PARK...

...that sounds so familiar.

John "Head in the Sand" Tory

What is Toronto's Mayor terrified to talk about? Go on... take a guess... I'll wait.

insert alt text hereReminds me of a story I heard from my Toronto ALS Medic buddy. He's at Sunnybrook Hospital Trauma Unit after serving up yet another bullet-riddled gangbanger and a young nurse, obviously not long in the trenches, asks him, "Where do you take all the white people who get shot?"

Truly a pivotal moment. Not sure where it went from there.

Anyway, let's do the math...
With 292 people shot, 2019 comes to a close as Toronto’s bloodiest year on record for overall gun violence. Forty-three men and one woman have been killed in shootings in Toronto this year.

In an emailed statement, Courtney Glen, a spokesperson for Mayor John Tory, said the mayor continues to work closely with Toronto police to address gun and gang violence in the city.
Does he really? Is John Tory being upfront & honest about gun violence in Toronto?most wanted
“I think that kind of talk about sort of, you know, where this all arises from, or sort of who’s to blame, is not very constructive,” Toronto Mayor John Tory told reporters in Nathan Phillips Square.

UPDATE: A commenter over at SDA suggests...

...that the figures quoted here are low because it does not include the GTA, or Greater Toronto Area. He is not wrong as outlying cities like Oshawa & Brampton are coming into their own, like gangbanger burbs, if you will.

These days, even sleepy Ajax Ontario, where I grew up... has numerous shootings & even "jackings." It is the price we pay for welcoming in the larger world. It is delusional to deny this.

LETS RING IN THE NEW YEAR:
TORONTO • Two people have been critically injured in a shooting near Regent Park in the area of River Street and Dundas Street East just after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.
As per usual, no information whatsoever about victims or shooters. Let's not give people ideas.

MEANWHILE AROUND THE GTA: Peel Region resident...

...discovered living solitary decades-long life in cave...
“Wow, I mean, I don’t see Brampton being that type of town. It’s pretty surprising.”
UPDATE: Shooter of 17y/o identified...
Peel Regional Police arrested Zakaria Hassan, 22, from Hamilton, on Thursday and charged him with first-degree murder.
BRAMPTON BONUS ROUND:
Police are investigating after a driver was shot at while travelling along Highway 50 in Brampton late Wednesday night.

LAST WORD: Getting a Gun license in Canada

And no, you still don't get to carry on your person.

From the folks who brought us...

...the butchery at Benghazi...insert alt text here
The Obama bigfoots have good reason to lay low. The U.S. embassy in Iraq was attacked by one of the people they'd tried to coddle earlier, back in 2011, Hadi Farhan al-Amiri • a guy so bad even a former FBI director, Louis Freeh, spoke out against letting the guy in at the time.

It's not like this guy pretended to be a friend and then went bad on them. They knew. And they let him in, giving him lots of clout back home from which he was able to draw new terrorist resources, since terrorism was what he did.
Don't get me started on the New York Times...insert alt text here
"Hundreds of 'Iraqi mourners' tried to storm the United States Embassy in Baghdad, shouting “Down, down USA!,” in response to deadly American airstrikes this week that killed 25 'fighters'."
Well, they were actually chanting 'Death to America!'... but I guess I'm just being picky.

Happy New Year

Who knows what 2020 might bring?

As for New Years Eve itself... let's take a little trip...
FRANCE • Authorities have previously refrained from reporting on the number of torched cars on New Year's Eve after it was discovered that a district-by-district breakdown was fuelling destructive competition between rival gangs.

Extra police are regularly deployed in "sensitive areas" in the the city's "poorer neighbourhoods" on specific nights of the year to try to prevent the blazes.
So many ways to avoid saying "the M word."

Over in the Fatherland...
GERMANY - The Berlin police department had an additional 2000 officers on duty, on top of the regular number of officers. Two hours into the new year, by 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Police had already responded to 543 emergencies.

At Brandenburg Gate, four individuals were arrested for sexually assaulting women.

The fire brigade was called 1523 times by 6:00 a.m. A total of fifteen badly injured individuals had to be treated. In one case, a person lost an entire hand.
Why can't they be more like Swe... sweet baby jebus!!!
Sweden saw a large rise in the number of explosions and bombings last year, with the Crime Prevention Council (BRÃ…) estimating at least 236 incidents in the first 11 months of 2019.

The BRÃ… figures are a stark rise from the previous year, where 162 incidents were recorded for all 12 months of 2018, broadcaster SVT reports.
And in peaceful, weed wonderland Holland...
Last year an estimated €15m to €20m worth of damage was caused to private homes and cars during the traditional Dutch New Year firework frenzy and 396 people were taken to hospital with injuries.

Two people died.
