DON'T TELL ME HEALTHCARE IN ONTARIO ISN'T COLLAPSING

ON THE WAY TO BEING A THIRD-WORLD COUNTRY...
-- "Hospital emergency closures have become so commonplace in Ontario that the provincial government has had to create the Emergency Department Closure Protocol with checklists for steps that hospitals should follow before temporarily closing their emergency departments." --

On a personal note, I had an appointment today to see about cataracts in my left eye... the doctor informed me their wait-list for surgery is a year.

PROMISES, PROMISES...

-- "The arbitrator who set hospital nurses’ new contract says there are 9,000 registered nurse vacancies." --
WHERE'S ALL THE MONEY GOING?
-- "Chair William Kaplan of the Ontario Nurses' Association says that in 2020-21, hospitals reported spending $38,350,956 on agency nurses. By 2022-23 that cost had exploded to $173,669,808." --
INFRASTRUCTURE NOT DOING WELL EITHER...

-- "Multiple people were injured on Line 3 Scarborough RT after the rear car was separated from the rest of a train and derailed on Monday night." --
