Root Causes yet again?

Seems there's always "a community" involved...insert alt text here

Five people are dead and a shooting suspect is in custody Friday after a lone gunman opened fire at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida.

Video posted on Instagram appeared to show several people wounded in the baggage claim area of the terminal. One person appeared to be lying in a pool of blood with a head wound.

The airport is the 21st busiest in the United States and serves 21 different airlines.

UPDATE: Canadian connection?
Chip LaMarca, a Broward County commissioner, was briefed on the airport shooting by Broward Sheriff’s office. He told The Associated Press by phone that the shooter was a passenger on a Canadian flight and had checked a gun.

UPDATE2: Not Canadian at all...professional journalism
ABC News is now reporting he went from Anchorage through Minneapolis to Fort Lauderdale.

UPDATE3: Not the Alt-Right after allinsert alt text hereSantiago was definitely mentally disturbed, but if he was calling himself “Aashiq Hammad”, recording Islamic religious music online, and downloading Islamic terrorist propaganda all in 2007, 3 years before his first deployment to Iraq, what do you really think is the root cause here?

LAST WORD: Barn empty... door firmly closedtoo little, too late
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami International Airport (MIA) and PortMiami have upped their security measures following a shooting at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Remember, when seconds count... the police are only minutes away.

I won't bore you with the snarky bureaucrtic twats I dealt with but here are the hoops I jumped through I had to go through taking an AC flight from Canada to Dakotas with 2 shotguns (A browning superposed and a pigeon grade Browning a-5 20 gauge ) plus 2 dogs in kennels - no ammo for the guns.

I started per-clearence with the airline and airport authorities 3 weeks prior to flight - FAC, number, Dakota hunting license and guide info, vet certifications for the dogs , then it took me 3 hrs to board with all the confirmation and ID shit , I sat in an isolated room and had to wait til the pilot arrived so he could take my locked aluminum gun cases in the cock pit - must've been crowded. They would not have taken my guns had they not been A) sporting long arms B) unloaded with no spare ammo in my luggage C)trigger locked and D)in a solid locked case - now this was before 9/11,

- The US side at the Fargo customs was a breeze - "enjoy your hunting sir and bag some big roosters, hey nice brace of dogs" - that's all I got on the US side from customs - I have avoided air travel when hunting out of province ever since.

I bet there are different rules for Americans with CCLs and a personal hand gun.

used to shoot ipsc in the 80's in ontario and western new york.

to make things go smoother at the border a couple dozen of us applied for new york state carry permits. as soon as we crossed out of canada we had the option of strapping on a concealed handgun.

used to love seeing the faces of the customs guys on both sides of the border as we pulled out our permits.

i imagine things have changed a little since 9/11.

As more info on this nutter come out, we see once again a terrorist who "was known to police" - this guy actually had a mental break down in a local FBI office where he claimed the government was making work for ISIS - my question is why the fxxx was he not on a no-fly list and why was his carry permit valid after a long history of mental illness?

I have heard of conservatives being placed on the no-fly list for voicing political opinions, but this cracker melts down in front of FBI agents and nothing????

they let a known psychiatric patient own firearms, board a plane with firearms... hell, forget firearms... why wasn't he on the no-fly list?

stand by for huge lawsuits.
