#ItsNeverGonnaBeEnough

"While these films this year reflect the black experience, I'm still waiting for films that reflect the Latin experience, for a romantic comedy with two LGBTQ members, for a disabled or differently-abled superhero.

We've actually seen a step back in respect to the Asian-American and Pacific Islander experience with movies like Ghost in the Shell or Tilda Swinton in Doctor Strange.

So there's still more work for #OscarsSoWhite.
And remember, calling the President's daughter (no, not Malia, silly) a dog is okay if you're a multi-millionaire Hollywood bigshot...insert alt text here**********

LAST WORD: "Isolated" and under siege

That is exactly how the New Blacklist works.new blacklist
The backlash was immediate and fierce, and there is no question Kidman's career was threatened when Joss Whedon, one of the most powerful director's working today, tweeted this out and faced no backlash
So, I'm voting with my wallet... no more Joss Wheedon movies UNLESS they are torrented.

I'm certain Mexico produces lots of films about the Latin experience, also Cuba.

i'm just wondering if getting an affirmative action "epidermal oscar" will be as satisfying as a regular one.

also, more than a little ironic that hollywood is going full speed ahead on a new blacklist targetting anyone who doesn't suck hillary's psychic penis.

I'm boycotting Pedowood for their snotty attitude toward common people, but I do hope Hacksaw ridge wins because (somehow) a great moral story brought to screen by a hollywood-outast (Gibson)made it to distribution.

Hacksaw ridge was historic fact, the brutality or war and politics framed withing human compassion, faith and selfless sacrifice - a riviting drama, action story that left you with renewed optimism in the human condition.

old white guy says.............if it is BS and is not entertaining I don't watch it. If it is political with a left wing message I don't watch it. The crap that passes as entertainment these days makes it easy to keep my money in my pocket.

The complaints about the Scarlett Johansson casting for live action version of the anime Ghost In The Shell are both wrong and spurious. In the original anime version the character Scarlett will play says that she chose a caucasian cyborg body; that body, the 'shell', has non-Japanese features. So in the original movie, where the character could be drawn as anything they liked, they chose to make the main character have caucasian features. A deeper meaning may be inferred by this choice of caucasian shell in a Japanese society: an external indication that the character doesn't mentally fit into the society in which she lives and feels herself an outsider. The original anime is about identity, fitting in and the age old question about what makes us human. A caucasian playing the main character, Major Motoko Kusanagi, is appropriate.
