Ahhh yes the new democracy at work - we no longer need that outdated white male idea of elected officials carrying out the will of the majority when we have minority sensitive philosopher-kings to rule over our wishes with divine wisdom.

Well Neo we know Selfie boy is the face boy for a pillaging Laurentian corporate cartel, but I was referring to the anti-democratic phenomenon happening at a local level - like we see here in this example.

This idea of mayors or comptrollers or council doing things that local rate payers have told them not to do or them just going ahead with their agenda in spite of referenda against it, seems to be breaking out all over NA.

In my town the residents of a suburb protested vigorously and petitioned council about rezoning their area as commercial to allow a gambling op in owned by a prominent local developer - guess what happened? - uh huh, and not only was the gaming center built but the sign about the development company make it quite clear the Mayor and his cronies were involved in the capital project - the new democracy is an open nepotistic kleptocracy - none of these networked buggers will ever see a day of jail for conflict of interest and malfeasance.
