Wake up and smell the hypocrisy...

All natural, fanatically leftwing, politically-correct British Columbia leads country in rate of caesarean sections...

More than one in three deliveries in B.C. hospitals were by C-section last year, the highest rate of surgical birth in Canada, new national data reveals. Eight of the 10 health regions in Canada with the highest overall caesarean rates were in B.C., and the highest rates in the country were in Metro Vancouver's Fraser Health region, at close to 40 per cent.

Actually, Neo, the narrative seems to suggest it's the doctors rather than the mothers who are pushing for pre-emptive C-sections. And that's probably out of a well-justified fear of being sued if they go the vaginal route and the child isn't "perfect".

Know women who have gone both routes. One in particular, after a semi-emergency C-section (kid was determined to stay put, and any intervention resulted in lowered heartbeats of said kid) after many hours of labour, opted for second offspring to have a scheduled C-section. Part of this was that her hospital of choice did not offer vaginal birth after a C-section and it was otherwise a really great hospital; part was because she was a professional business owner who was going to have to bring in similarly qualified professionals to cover the job while she was on a very abbreviated mat leave: scheduling a C-section meant she could line up other professionals to cover for her. As it was, she was back at work within two months; that was stressful for all concerned.

an emergency c-section saved my wife and son's lives. however, the numbers here suggest that expediency rather than sound medical practice is the ultimate endgame here.
