A Wuss in Chief's clothing

When even Uber-Pinko David Miller was forced to back down on the decal issue, I assumed this hot potato was cooked and served...

Toronto city council endorsed outfitting its emergency vehicles with supportive stickers in June, but Chief Bill Blair has decided they won't go on police cars.
Apparently Chief Bill Blair, despite having a "Support the Troops" decal on his personal vehicle, won't allow the same for police cruisers.

Apart from the obvious hypocrisy here, this decision ignores the will of city council, the people of Toronto and the police officers themselves.

Let the Chief know how you feel.

Very sick and tired of hearing about this decal issue - time to move on.

Actually the whole concept originated in the US as a support the Iraq war theme by supporting the troops.

What bloody difference does it make if one has one or not. Really, very stupid uproar over nadda.

ah, yes... so say all the little leftbot winged monkeys... patriotism is just "so eighties".

funny... it certainly seems to make a difference to the troops.

Funny, but military people I know couldn't care less if Toronto garbage trucks display any decals at all.
They'd probably be po'd if Toronto trucks carried a "Support the Taliban" decal, but apart from that, I don't think most care about decals.

The civic employees are free to put decals on their privately owned vehicles.

Decals don't equate to patriotism. If anyone is that worried about our soldiers, let them join the Royal Canadian Legion, and help to keep alive the only organization that has helped veterans for over eighty years.

not what all the troopers are telling the media about the whole idea of "public support".

perhaps the people you know are different somehow.
