-- First Nations Chief Rosanne Casimir told reporters on Friday that the remains claimed to have been discovered at a former residential school near Kamloops, British Columbia were “not a mass grave” according to preliminary findings." --The news release about the graves at the BC residential school is based solely on the use of ground-penetrating radar. GPR does not 'see bodies'... it merely detects disturbances in the ground.
It most certainly cannot differentiate between adult remains and children. Call me wacky, but i'm willing to wait for actual evidence to be presented.
FROM THE COMMENTS:
"There is a belief but no proof that any crime was committed. There is a belief but no proof that all were students of the residential school."
"The numbers are less than 5 percent thru 80 years of very real pandemics of measles tuberculosis smallpox polio etc etc etc."DOES POLITICAL THEATRE HELP ANYONE?
“'This 'mass grave' is a painful reminder of the genocide,' says NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, urging emergency debate re finding at former B.C. residential school."Except, Jagmeet, as First Nations Chief Rosanne Casimir has said above... it's not a mass grave.
WHY ALL THE SECRECY? Is there even an archeologist involved?
"The Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation says it hopes to complete its preliminary findings by the end of June; it declined the Post’s request to speak with the archaeologist who did the ground-penetrating radar research."MATH IS HARD: Actual children... actual death...
"The rate of deaths from injuries is 3 to 4 times higher for Aboriginal children than for other children in Canada."
