It's not like we can really complain
The people of Ontario just gave McSlippery an overwhelming mandate to trot out more dishonesty...
"We're not going to raise taxes," Dalton McGuinty promised.Like the old saying goes... "Fool me once, shame on you... fool me twice, shame on me."
Well, just like the lies he told us four years ago, that was before the election. This is after.
"Linda, rumour is high in the finance department at Queen's Park that after the federal budget reduces the GST by 1% and cuts personal taxes, the Liberals will introduce a 2% PST increase, with 1% for the municipalities and 1% for public transit," states an e-mail from a reader who will remain anonymous. And apparently Big Pink himself, Mayor Miller, gets his pound of taxpayer flesh as well.
The e-mail went on: "They say this is why (Toronto Mayor David) Miller laid off in the provincial election."(via 2 separate readers)

I agree: here it comes, if McGuinty can screw up the courage to do it. It's the worst possible time to do it because the economy is slowing due to the high dollar and we're facing a big rise in property taxes already, but McGuinty has about 14 billion in campaign promises to pay for (if he keeps them) and Harper's tax cuts will give him just that little bit of political cover he'll need. Just wait for the speech about "investments" and more of that Dalton-style Ontario togetherness. Pass the bucket.
Mayor Moron of Toronto on the day after the provincial election said his subjects voted for tax hikes, so this is great - Torontonians will be able to enjoy municipal and provincial tax increases.
And less 'services' from the gov't for at least one 'family day' of the year - all the while businesses leave the city and take their jobs elsewhere with them. People get the kind of government they deserve and Toronto's got it.
It's time for the Province of Trawnna to solve it's own problems. Hate to say this but Miller has it right:The vote for McGuinty means Ontario does not object to more taxes.
gdw...would that be a barf bucket we are passing around?
bluetech

You betcha: the patented Liberal red chuck bucket with a picture of Dalton inside on the bottom.
