Nice find.
I'd heard of the Japanese connection with the Indian anti-British movement, but not much of the German. I did know about Indian prisoners being recruited for one of the SS' "foreign legions", but didn't know about the details.
Another interesting WWII factoid: after the war was over, the Dutch and French re-armed some Japanese units to keep order while they could scrounge some troops to keep up their colonies...
