Yet another Crown stutterstep

Ghomeshi livestream resumes at 11:00am...third witnessGhomeshi lawyer Marie Henein refers to third witness "disclosure issue" as being like "Twilight Zone."

**********

UPDATE: Ask a hoary old Liberal pundit...lowly warrenNope, no mistrial. Third witness now testifying.choking corroboratedLesson learned... Kinsella makes prediction, smart money goes the other way.

Here's today's bombshell. Apparently even after choking event, the witness not only went on another date with Ghomeshi, but had "sexual contact" (which I interpret to mean, in the parlance, she "slept") with him... but did not inform cops or Crown of this fact until last Friday after Marie Henein ripped into Lucy Decoutere.she slept with hima fter assault? Now, I'm no lawyer like Lowly Warren, but if some guy I knew punched me in the face... and I had a beer with him the next day... does that invalidate the prior assault? I don't think so.

**********

CORRECTION: To quote BBT actor Jim Parsons
(aka Dr. Sheldon Cooper)...

...FWIW - "Romantic contact" was not "coitus."did not sleep with him after assaultWitness is right, testifying is embarrassing.

Court adjourned until 2:15 so that Marie Henein can "adjust her cross examination."

And boy-oh-boy... did she ever...handjob**********

LAST WORD: If you read one thing Ghomeshi...

Anger percolated over the seeming disconnect between the allegations and Ghomeshi’s public persona as an enlightened, sensitive progressive who called Jack Layton his “mentor.”
It's all here... back to the late eighties.

A lot of this seems like "bad boyfriend" whining = Gomeshi seems to get dumped a lot - probably not enough room in that VW beetle for him, his ego and a date.

Re: Kinsella,
Kinsella has an established track record of predictions - always wrong. I bet he wished he was in authentic grown up court today like a real lawyer and everything.

These girls are giving women a bad name. Progressive females obviously have zero self esteem.

"bill elder says... seems like "bad boyfriend" whining"

henein's job is to muddy the waters as much as possible and she's doing just that... but if we were to stick strictly to the law of the land...

"As argued by UBC law prof Isabel Grant in an interview with the National Post, 'We wouldn’t start questioning the victim about whether or not he likes being punched in the face. Was he dressed in a way that would invite punching in the face? Did he talk to the person after he was punched in the face? If you think about these arguments in other crimes, you start to see how absurd it is'.”

as for lucy decoutere's emails...

In presenting the correspondence, the defence appears to be trying to establish some sort of retroactive implied consent, which, of course, is moot: at the time of the alleged assault, the future hadn’t occurred.

Lawyer Gillian Hnatiw asked that the focus remain on Ghomeshi’s alleged actions and not on DeCoutere: “This is and remains a trial about Mr. Ghomeshi’s conduct.”

this should be, one did he choke women? - two, was there prior consent?

otherwise we had better stop right here and rewrite the law of the land.

"anon says... Gold diggers willing to put up with a lot of shit"

i knew we'd get at least one anonymous neanderthal... but ghomeshi has a 30 year history of doing this shit to women. he's a slick predator who was using his celebrity at cbc to prey on, very often, much younger women.

and he learned it, apparently, from "shiatsu jack."

"Anger percolated over the seeming disconnect between the allegations and Ghomeshi’s public persona as an enlightened, sensitive progressive who called Jack Layton his “mentor.”

read that and come back and tell me about gold-diggers.

I think asking a plaintiff if they like being roughed up is a fair question considering some women actually like and get sexual gratification from rough treatment , particularly in light of the fact they continued dating the alleged assailant - the point of law to be established is if this rough sex was in fact assault - in that regard it can only be considered assault if the person being roughed up tells her acquaintance that this is not wanted, that they consider this assault - then it is NOT consentual and if it continues or occurs again that IS assault - premeditated assault.

I find it strange that these women did not definitively tell Ghomeshi this rough foreplay was NOT wanted - that at the time they considered it criminally inappropriate, none of them established that limit - they just dumped him and called him names to their twitter friends. - all the rest of the palather is fembo BS posing as legal interpretation.

I think Ghomeshi is a creep and a CBC/Arts parasite but I won't see him pilloried as a martyr to Fembo perversion of the law or vindictive proggy ex-girlfriends.

Of greater interest to me is his behavior of abusiveness with women being well known, what roll did the CBC work environment have in exposing employees to these unwanted advances on the work site - or were they unwanted? Where they covered up by the employer?
Not hearing much about these salient issues.

When found not guilty of the horrible stuff he did and the abuse of power he can run for President as a Democrat and say he was empowering women.

Kinsella reposted this video on his website with a caption calling Ghomeshi a "Godlike Genius" after the allegations became public.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A36QUI-D0RA
It was scrubbed tout suite when it became apparent that no one appreciated Kinsella's attempt at humor
