Isn't "gun control" all about...

...asking violent thugs to obey... "pretty please with sugar on top"... the existing "law of the land?"mouths of babesIt's funny, not because it's factual, but essentially because it's so true.

FROM THE COMMENTS:

"C-68 has little to do with gun control or crime control, but it is the first step necessary to begin the social re-engineering of Canada." — Quote by Senator Sharon Carstairs 1996 January 26 – on stage at 11th Annual Community Legal Education Associations Conference, Winnipeg, Manitoba
Exactly.

Meanwhile in other social engineering news...
Yeah, I saw this earlier. I am empty of outrage at this point, but get back to me later. I may have refueled.
Sigh.

Neo, to answer your question, I'll let Liberal functionaries tell you in their more Candid Moments -

"protection of life is NOT a legitimate use for a firearm in this country sir! Not! That is expressly ruled out!". — Justice Minister Allan Rock @ Canadian justice issues town hall meeting Triwood community centre in Calgary, December 1994 .

"gun registration is no more complex than the Income Tax system." — MP Joe Jordan (Liberal, Leeds-Grenville) — CBC NewsWorld, 1998 May 4

The tie-in to creating all this seemingly redundant labyrinthine regulatory paper crimes for lawful firearms owners was stated in an iconic opus about the decay of civil freedom in North America –

“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt.”

funny how the liberals expect criminals and thugs to simply accede to their requests to follow the law... but they then issue draconian dictates to law-abiding citizens curbing previously legal pursuits.

funny how all these shooters from jamaican drug posses who have four and five convictions for violence and illegal guns manage to get right back out on the street.

meanwhile, justin & co. want to persecute law-abiding citizens because no one "needs" a firearm.

here's a thought... go out to your basement or garage and total up all the stuff you don't absolutely "need". then put it in a pile and burn it.

what's next on the libranos list... skydiving, motorcycles, full-contact sports?

Skydiving, motorcycles and full contact sports don't threaten the power of the government. A free citizen with a gun does.

"Needs"-based property rights are the hallmark of Marxist governing

The thing the Liberal distain for civilian owned firearms, and indeed our right to self defense, displays is the seething contempt of cloistered elites for the proletariat - we note that JT et al are protected by armed guards 24/7 - it is very easy to question the "need" for armed defense from that insular secure bubble - but to continue this charade in the face of the defenseless "gun free zone" victims of armed thugs piling up, amounts to immorality of the most despicable kind.

Remember the first person to admit that gun control does not impact criminal use of firearms is a Liberal insider - they know this does nothing - and they do nothing to disarm criminals or allow us to protect ourselves - creepy at best.

not in canada, i'm afraid. a people that would elect a previously undistinguished snowboarder boy-king to the highest office in the land is fated to die fat, lonely and whining in front of their wide screen tv's watching shows about unicorns and celebrity nudity.
