Golden Age of Millionaire Celeb-u-tards

Why would this take anyone by surprise?celeb-u-tards uniteIt's already happening right here in staid, boring Canada.

COUNTERPOINT:

The reason we voted for Harper, despite his shortcomings, was because this election does indeed come down to values, and the value we cherish is responsibility. Responsibility is the opposite of entitlement.

Anyone can promise unicorns and rainbows if they max out the credit card. New infrastructure, bigger family benefits, fatter CPP cheques, the list of Liberal goodies is endless. But just because interest rates are low, doesn’t mean you borrow to buy more house than you can afford.
And...
Harper has outshone his predecessors on the environment, the economy, clean government and native empowerment.
Bravo.

Lets see what the results think, but I think Trudeau's support is really based on two things.

1. As the old age saying is, government's don't win elections, they get defeated so I think a lot of the Liberal vote is more an anti-Harper than pro-Trudeau. He just happens to be in the right place at the right time.

2. Performance vs. expectations. Expectations of him were so low it was easy to beat even though he still quite weak and not fit to be PM, if expectations are low it's easier to win than when high.

certainly can't argue with anything you've said. still, it's incredibly disheartening to see that the average canadian voter is so uninformed that they would even consider this intellectual lightweight who is running solely on the strength of his father's name.

justin, after his brief drama teacher career, dropped out of two different grad school programs, then wangled a directorship on the katimavik board (where he used his expense account in a fashion that would have made caligula blush) and then slid into papineau as mp where he had one of the worst attendance records in parliament.

do people just not care? i truly fear for my country.

At least if it is a minority government he will be on a tight leash and if he does anything stupid, there is no reason he won't be tossed. I think the most optimistic outcome we could hopeful is it works out like Quebec where the Liberals only barely lost in 2012 and then came back with a majority in 2014. I still think the Tories can pull off a weak minority, but even then I cannot see it lasting long. He is quite weak, but he does have strong handlers who are good at making him look strong even if he isn't.

"anon says... does have strong handlers who are good at making him look strong even if he isn't."

i suspect that, much like tim hudak, justin's wife is the brains behind the operation and that he'll self destruct at some point.

hopefully, if he gets in, he won't be able to do as much damage as trudeau pere.

It's the pot smokers...they want to lay around the public stoned and driving cars stoned, no questions asked. That's the Trudeau support. As for his wife being the brains? Why do you think she has been muzzled so far? Her brain reaches heights of YOGA.

"anon says... Her brain reaches heights of YOGA."

i don't even know what that means, but pls note i never claimed mrs justin was a rocket scientist... i simply observed that she was smarter than justy... which isn't exactly setting the bar way up in the intellectual stratosphere.

if he does actually get elected, we will, however, have learned something valuable about the intelligence of the electorate.

Neo. old white guy says..........I learned all one needs to know about the Canadian electorate many years ago. 60% will vote the socialist line every time and always want something for nothing from someone else.

folks should do the math. what the liberals and ndp are promising to do will be a burden down the road to our children and their children.

all because the lefties are swooning at the feet of this paris hilton clone. put him in a tim horton's uniform and nobody'd look twice.

He won't be on a tight leash in a minority. If its a minority with an NDP backing that is the worst of all possible scenarios. The NDP will demand the most outrageous things (as they did with Trudeau senior and Peterson) and not have to take any responsibility for the outcomes. The Liberals will do anything, no matter how foolish or reckless, to maintain power.

you would think anybody who lived through ontario's flirtation with bob rae's socialist manifesto would run screaming from a trudeau government, but apparently that is not so.

media and academia have decided that stephen harper is a witch and must be burned at the stake. our children are bombarded with a leftist agenda from their first day at school... taught that feelings trump concepts like logic and common sense.

ontario, under successive liberal governments now has a debt that would scare people living in detroit.

will canada go the same way?
