"There’s this persistent belief that people behave better if they feel like God is watching them,” said Will Gervais, lead study author and doctoral candidate in the social psychology department at UBC."

To some extent that's true, but in many cases unscrupulous people hide behind their piety and justify their nefarious activities by telling themselves that they are a good person because they believe in God or Jesus.

I've found that the louder a person proclaims his "love for Jesus",the more he has to hide.

i'm guessin' sociopaths are just as likely to take instructions from the little space traveller who lives in their head... as any deity you can imagine.

if an irrational fear of an avenging gawd is the only thing keeping you from beheading fellow bus passengers... then we are all truly living on the edge.
