Matthew's gonna go with...

The Johnny Maudlin defense...

"They claim I was too stoned to remember," Matthew said, adding his school is taking a "holier-than-thou" attitude.

So was he?

"I was, but they don't have it on camera so they can't prove it," he said.
Now, I was actually gonna make a crack about how proud his parents must be... but apparently, well... read on...
Matthew's mother, Delma Bruni, said Matthew wasn't doing anything wrong and he was on his own time anyway.

"Regardless of whether he was high, the school is stepping over the line here."
Well... I guess that explains a few things.

Unless the school makes a morally impeccable conduct explicitly mandatory I doubt they have any ground for suspending him. And if they merely expect students to be good boys then tough luck for their naivete.

I'm more worried about the mom. Parents shouldn't condone pot smoking or any substance abuse. Open-mindedness doesn't necessarily mean looking on as your kid gets stoned. Whatever.

Ahhh, that is sooo sweet to see mommy supporting her sonny boy, if only more parents would be supportive of their children the world would be a better place.

Wouldn't surprise me if ma was the one shootng the video, betcha Ma's Day is a very special occasion what with bouquet's of flowers and such being handed out...lovingly of course.

I have to agree with Ma here. I think the school is more than welcome to give he and his stoner pals a zero on whatever assignment the video was for. However, to suspend based upon taking part in an event related to an opinion that the school doesn't hold is offensive. I could no more support this than a Muslim school suspending a student for participating in a rally against terrorism.

"johnny pockets says... to suspend based upon taking part in an event related to an opinion that the school doesn't hold"

how about... to suspend based upon evidence of a student breaking the law of the land?

you also don't think smokin' dope violates ANY school's code of conduct?

he admits it... he has to wear it.

And you have to point this out eh, neo...
'how about... to suspend based upon evidence of a student breaking the law of the land?'

Interesting how that is so easily forgotten in the La La Land.
However, I doubt the school can get away with this...they must know what the kids(and some teachers too) do on the w/e.
They are probably trying to 'save face'.

"perry 'anon' mason says... 'how about... to suspend based upon evidence..."

evidence? like what... a blood test?

maybe dopey, doob suckin' matty shouldn't have just admitted to it... in one of the largest newspapers in ontario, huh?

just a little too baked to figure it out, i guess.
