An idea whose time has, er... come...

..."Fellatio Park"...
Gareth Kirkby, former editor of Capital Xtra!, Ottawa's gay and lesbian weekly magazine, said a much more progressive and rational strategy would be one of harm reduction and education, rather than rounding people up like criminals.

"There's a long and, I would say honourable tradition of outdoor sex in the Ottawa area, as there is everywhere in the world. Men who have sex with men cruise in parks, they do that in repressed societies and they do it in more liberated societies like ours."
Well, it's true... we already set aside special fenced-in areas where your dog can take a crap.

Is it time for "designated BJ" zones?

Of course, look what happens when you...

...ask a "non-advocate"...
go iggy goAnother propaganda mis-step from the compassionate, intellectual "center of the universe."

Hey, let's break this down a little more... and ask someone who isn't Michael Ignatieff...
Ottawa is vowing to curb illegal immigration by stopping asylum seekers before they set sail for Canada, as border officials in B.C. scramble to process hundreds of migrants who arrived aboard the MV Sun Sea.
One people, one law.

Bright lights, big city...

...no word yet from Mayor Miller's office... on which gun club the shooters belonged to...much murder
Police received a call about a shooting at an apartment complex at 57 Mabelle Ave., in the Dundas Rd. and Islington Ave. area, around 9:30 p.m.

The victim is believed to be about 20 years old. His identity has not yet been released.

It seems there's a bit of an epidemic flaring up here...
Tien Pham, Justice Ferrigno, Chris Tshilombo, Mitchell Celise, Devonte Gonde-Prosper, Vincent Wright, Adrian Ducas, DiAnthony Evans and now Andrew Dowden.

All under 20, all dead, recent murder victims in the GTA.

CORRECTION: Oops... in all the confusion...

...I missed one...
Later Saturday night, police responded to a call for the sound of gunshots on Bleecker St., southeast of Bloor St. E. and Sherbourne St., and found a man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

That victim, believed to be in his late 20s, was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests were made in either shooting, the city's 34th and 35th murders of the year.
There oughta be a law.

UPDATE: Shooting victims identified
"Byron Jones, 20, and Nicholas Kenyon, 29, were killed in separate incidents."

Seriously... is this... like... Edmonton, Iran?

I'm thinkin'... it'll be a chilly day in, well... wherever... before this comes to pass...
Arlette Zinck, dean of the faculty of arts at The King’s University College in Edmonton, denied that Mr. Khadr, a devout Muslim facing murder and terrorism charges, had been guaranteed immediate admission at one of Canada’s most Christian colleges.
This report sounds totally off the wall... I mean, there's no way some administrative bigwig would be reaching out to Canada's most infamous jihadi without the full support of her peers and colleagues, right?
“Arlette doesn’t speak on behalf of this institution,” said Ken Schwanke, the university’s director of public relations.
Oooh... that doesn't sound too collegial.

Psssst, Arlette... I hear the Ignatieff campaign is looking for people. And it sounds like you guys might have a lot in common...
Ignatieff dismissed calls that Canada should have followed Australia’s policy on refugees and turned the Tamil refugee boat away.

"This is Canada, not Australia," Ignatieff said. "That means Canada has principles, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, our international obligations."
You tell 'em, Mikey... freakin Australians... just an "unprincipled" nation of convicts... right?

Government by Rope-A-Dope

-- FLIP --
Premier Dalton McGuinty had always dismissed the idea of allowing the bare-knuckled cage matches that characterize MMA — often with a chuckle — saying it just wasn't a priority for Ontario families.
-- FLOP --
The Ontario government had a sudden change of heart Saturday and announced it will allow mixed martial arts, starting in 2011.
Another about-face from the folks who brought you... "I won't raise your taxes."

LAST WORD: Rex, on rebuilding...
A tolerance is being, and has been shown toward Islam, which Islam emphatically does not show to other creeds in regions or countries where Islam is predominant.
Funny how that works, huh?

But he's so McDreamy

Looks like the MSM had their very own version of... "don't ask, don't tell"...
"How did you all think that a guy who basically went from the Harvard Law Review, to some community leafleting, organizing, whatever you want to call it, to a short stint, a few lectures about constitutional law at the University of Chicago, very short stopover in the state Senate, and a very short stopover in the U.S. Senate."

"How does that add up to experience to run the biggest economy and the biggest military in the world?"
And hey... what about the biceps on that Michelle?

And shots rang out...

...must be Friday...
-- TORONTO -- A man in his 20s is in hospital after gun shots rang out around Sherbourne and Gerrard Sts. early Friday. Toronto Police got the first report of shots being fired around 3:20 a.m.

Police said a man turned up with gun shot wounds at a nearby hospital while officers were still searching for the source of the shots.
Curiously... no word yet from Mayor Miller's office, on which gun club the shooter belonged to.

Isn't this exactly why,,,

...they threw that necktie party for Saddam Hussein? --
“Turkey needs to urgently look into these accusations,” said Ruprecht Polenz, chairman of the Foreign Affairs committee in the Bundestag and a member of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union party.
How about a little sauce for the goose here?

"The vast right wing conspiracy is responsible for getting Stephen Harper elected so it is safe to say that it is also responsible for murdering the gentle giant who was preparing to bury Stephen Harper's re-election prospects."
Whoa... where did that come from? Looks like my own personal troll has really blown a gasket this morning.

Yeah... it's a conspiracy

The world is ganging up on India to destroy it's "medical tourism" industry...
The issue was also raised in India's parliament, with angry MPs questioning the Lancet study, saying it was funded by pharmaceutical multi-national companies.

"When India is emerging as a medical tourism destination, this type of news is unfortunate and may be a sinister design of multi-national companies," MP SS Ahluwalia of the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party said.

Indian medical tourism industry is growing rapidly and is estimated to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
And I suppose McDonalds & Burger King are responsible for "Delhi-Belly."

UPDATE: In other "alien abduction" news...
-- MUMBAI -- Indian doctors warned earlier this year about the threat from a new multi-drug resistant "superbug" -- months before a British study that New Delhi has condemned for scaremongering.

A team of researchers from a leading private hospital in Mumbai came to similar conclusions as the British study, which warned that foreigners coming to India for cut-price treatment could pick up NDM-1 and spread it worldwide.
Oops.

CANADA... it's official...

...we're everybody's bitch...
Tamil migrants are making the choice to come to Canada because it is seen as "the easiest mark in the world" for prospective refugees of any background, says Ottawa's former High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.

"We accept about 50 per cent of people who manage to reach our soil and make refugee claims. The average for other countries is around 15 per cent, so your chances of getting accepted in Canada are much greater," Collacott told CTV's Canada AM from Vancouver on Thursday morning.

"And even if you're turned down, the chances are we won't be able to remove you. We remove a few, but we've had people who have been turned down 20 years ago, but are still appealing."
Oh, c'mon now... that's just gotta be bullsh... what the f@ckin' f@ck!!!?
-- BRANTFORD -- A convicted terrorist ordered deported from Canada two decades ago is still living with his family in a modest semi-detached bungalow in Brantford.

FROM THE CTV COMMENTS:
"As a Canadian Citizen, I'm curious what I need to do to be able to apply for Refugee status in Canada?"

"It sure sounds a lot easier than going to College and Working for the rest of my life."
Just something to think about... the next time you're sitting in the local hospital emergency room for seven hours.

Hey, Omar... "not a sparrow falls"... right?

You believe your all-powerful deity pulls all the world's levers... that can't be an auspicious sign...
-- GUANTANAMO BAY, CUBA -- Omar Khadr's military lawyer collapsed in court at the end of Thursday's hearing and was taken way by ambulance to the base hospital here.
Once again, the capricious & unknowable "Will of Allah."

Paging the Somali Muslim community...

...a little help here, folks?
-- TORONTO -- Reward posters are going up in Toronto for information that could help police arrest a murder suspect who sometimes disguises himself in women's clothing.

Mohamud Hagi, 27, is wanted on charges of first-degree murder in the death of a Windsor man in 2007.

Const. Wendy Drummond of Toronto police says Hagi was last seen in Toronto in 2008, and Windsor police enlisted the help of authorities in Toronto.

Drummond says Hagi has been spotted wearing Somali female Muslim attire, which includes hijabs and burkas.
Hmmm... he sure ain't blending in around this neck of the woods.

C'mon folks... little give and take here?
