Harper caught dancing jig on desk

Stephen Harper's RCMP bodyguards were startled to hear shouting and clapping emanating from the Prime Minister's office this morning. Upon entering the room, they were transfixed by the sight of the normally unflappable Stephen Harper tap dancing on top of his desk.

Bob Rae has emerged as the leading candidate in the Liberal leadership race, according to a poll of party members in Ontario and Quebec released today by the Toronto Star and La Presse.
Officials in the PMO were quick to talk the Prime Minister back onto solid ground, now that falling and breaking his neck appears to be the only impediment to a future landslide Harper majority government.
"The race is far from over, but Rae has a significant edge over the other candidates at the moment," said Graves, adding Rae has "a non-trivial advantage."

I feel like crying over it, this shows that the Liberal party is not learning from their mistakes at all. They are only showing we'll take anyone who is popular enough to get a vote, well they forget he got the vote then blew it. No second chances in politics remember...

Liberal leadership candidates are starting to panic. Volpe juggernaut "just can't be stopped", says one Lib insider.

The other guy can still win.

Even if it's Bob Rae.

Yeah, although we feel like celebrating, I think Harper has learned not to underestimate his opponent(s).

sure tiger, sure he can. maybe in some alternate universe where stephen harper is caught standing over the lifeless body of santa claus, with a smokin' gun in his hand.

now, no more science fiction just before bed and for goodness sake, take off those pointy plastic ears.

bob rae couldn't get elected dog catcher in ontario... no matter how much money his political bagman brother throws at it. that's reality.

I can't blame Stephen.

Peter Kormos, NDP MPP in Ontario, said it best in the Globe the other day:

"If he can do to the Liberals what he did to the Ontario NDP, I'll donate $1000 to his campaign"

While one should never underestimate the stupidity of Ontario voters, the chances of a Bob Rae led Liberal Party winning 54 seats in Ontario are zero. (54 is what they're at now)

i remember when rae got elected, ontarians woke up the next day... with this sense of disbelief.

sorta like they were suddenly caught in a trap and had to contemplate chewing off a limb to get free.
