The government runs every other fireams owner in the country... farmers, hunters, target shooters... against the CPIC database on a regular basis, but the Parliament Hill rent-a-cops apparently get some sort of a pass.

Actually the government doesn't run every other firearms owner through the CPIC database on a regular basis, just the ones that are law-abiding enough to get a license.
