Because, of course...

...the last thing we want are the fittest, fastest and most capable people possible...

"Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a retired Canadian Forces member also questioned the decision to apply the test equally to all men and women regardless of age, wondering how the military can increase the number of women in the forces while prescribing a test that is measurably more challenging for women and older men."
Of course, if the goal is to add up the politically correct ledger...

Hummm why not implement mandatory military service? It was be a great idea that would teach discipline, self control and patriotism. In fact why not implement mandatory service for all new Canadians? It would certainly engrain a sense of national pride in the hearts of the new Canadians immigrants while at the same time building a foundation of patriotic appreciation. But no we can’t do that cause it would go against everything Canadian. What we do instead is send our military soldiers to Afghanistan to fight for freedom, democracy and sharia law. Yes we had almost 160 brave Canadian soldiers die and many many more wounded in the name of The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan! Meanwhile at home, we open up our flood gates to the people of Afghanistan to immigrate here and we ask for nothing in return. Instead we give everything away to them. Everything that our ancestors have work for, have built and have sacrificed so that we may inherit our freedom and generous social programs. Our hearts bleed for the immigrants from Afghanistan, sharia law and the Islamic Republic that we seen our brave soldiers die to defend. Welcome to Canada!
