-- VILLIERS-LE-BEL, France -- Groups of youths assaulted a police station, torched cars and vandalized stores in a weekend rampage that injured 21 police officers in this rundown Paris suburb.

Sunday's night's clashes came hours after the motorcycle crashed into the patrol car. A 15-year-old and 16-year-old were killed in the accident.

Apparently though... in this neck of the woods... there's no such thing as an accident.

Police officials said the motorbike ignored traffic rules and ran into the police vehicle, and that the bike was unregistered and neither teen was wearing a helmet.

Latest reports say the motorbike wasn't just unregistered, but actually stolen... regardless, it's time to run amuck.

The irresistable smell...

Of burning upholstery... heralds the start of another CAR-B-Q season in France.

-- SAINT-DIZIER, France (AP) -- Dozens of hooded youths battered two police vehicles with metal bars, set fire to more than a dozen parked cars and torched a community center in northeast France, officials said Friday.

The rampage in a tough neighborhood in Saint-Dizier, about 120 miles east of Paris, revived memories of a wave of car burnings, vandalism and clashes with police in 2005 fanned by feelings of alienation among French youths of Arab and African origin.

The traditional trashing of "things we'd like to own someday" reached its apogee a couple of years ago... but this promises to be another bumper season.

In late 2005, anger over high unemployment and racial inequalities contributed to a three-week wave of rioting across France. Many of those involved were the French-born children of immigrants from former colonies.

Police have little or no control in some housing projects, where they face insults or attack. Firefighters have also been targeted and sometimes get police escorts.

A crowd of youths set police barricades on fire and threw stones and Molotov cocktails at officers, who retaliated with tear gas and rubber bullets.

In Villiers-le-Bel and surrounding areas, youths set fire to 36 vehicles, the area's prefecture said.

It looks as though these "poor youth" were awfully well prepared...

Youths were seen firing buckshot at police and reporters.

A police union official said 38 officers were wounded, including three seriously — one of whom had a shoulder wound after a shot from a hunting rifle pierced his bullet-proof vest. One reporter also was injured.

Canada's junior foreign minister, Peter Kent, said that despite sketchy details on the school strike, it is clear that Hamas “bears the full responsibility for the deepening humanitarian tragedy.

“We really don't have complete details yet, other than the fact that we know that Hamas has made a habit of using civilians and civilian infrastructure as shields for their terrorist activities, and that would seem to be the case again today,” he said in an interview.'

This sort of thing will continue to happen as HAMAS sets up and fires their mortars and rockets in civilian venues... hoping to draw deadly retaliation.

Fortunately, the only people in this country dumb enough buy into this vile ploy are folks like uber-socialist Sid Ryan.

The government is made of sterner stuff...

“Canada believes there should be an immediate ceasefire, but only if it's a permanent ceasefire, if it's a durable ceasefire, and if Hamas is prevented or is willing not to rearm and resume its terrorist rocketing at some point down the road.”

VILLIERS-LE-BEL, France — Police will step up security in north Paris suburbs to prevent a third night of unrest, French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said on Tuesday, promising a firm line against rioters who attack police.

"Those who fire on the police and who beat a police officer nearly to death, are criminals and must be treated like criminals," said Mr. Fillon.

Patrick Ribeiro, the head of Synergie union, put the number of police casualties higher than the official figures. He said 77 officers were injured last night and that most rioters are under 18.

"It's much more violent than in 2005," Ribeiro said in a telephone interview. "They've shot at us with handguns and hunting rifles.

If our officers have to protect their lives, they may have to shoot and that's not what we want."

The French National Assembly has passed a controversial bill tightening entry conditions for the relatives of immigrants living in France.

Under the legislation, the relatives will have to prove they are solvent financially and can speak French.

It also includes plans for DNA testing of foreigners seeking to join family members living in France.

I can't wait to see what happens come Car-B-Q season.

It's Car-B-Q season

France's national holiday, Bastille Day has been overshadowed by a night of rioting in which more than 300 cars were torched on the streets of Paris and other cities.

Despite a deployment of 10,000 police officers, the number of cars set alight represents a rise of almost seven percent from the previous year. Youths threw home-made explosives and fireworks to set alight bins and cars, before targeting police officers, 13 of whom were wounded in the riots.

A total of 240 arrests were made -- almost double the number recorded in 2008.

-- PARIS, July 30 (Reuters) -- President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Friday he wanted to strip French nationality from anyone of foreign origin who threatened the life of a police officer, in a crackdown after riots shook two French towns this month.

Speaking in Grenoble, where street violence erupted in mid-July after a local man died fleeing police after allegedly holding up a casino, Sarkozy said he also wanted to increase prison sentences for violent crimes.

Perhaps the French are simply getting tired of their annual Car-B-Q season...

"French nationality should be stripped from anybody who has threatened the life of a police officer or anybody involved in public policing."

Pity the French allowed things to get this far... but you do what you gotta do.

Riots at a train station in the French capital, Paris, have become an issue in the upcoming presidential election. About 100 youths clashed with police at the Gare du Nord station after a dispute over a train fare.

Rioters smashed windows and attacked vending machines and shops, after objecting to the treatment of a man arrested for jumping a ticket barrier. Transport officials said the man punched two ticket inspectors who asked for his ticket as part of a routine inspection.

Does this mark the start of Car-B-Q season?

The government's candidate, Nicolas Sarkozy, said police were justified in arresting an alleged fare dodger - the action that sparked the riots.

"I want to tell the French that I will not be on the side of fraudsters, cheats, dishonest people... those who think that in order to be heard, they must demolish a train station and break public equipment paid for by taxpayers."

A Sikh school is opening its doors in a Paris suburb for the first time on Saturday in the wake of tougher French laws on religious dress.

The special school in Bobigny was set up after secularisation laws in 2004 prevented Sikh boys from wearing their traditional turbans in class.

The French laws ban the wearing of prominent religious symbols such as Muslim headscarves or Sikh turbans in public places like offices or schools.

How can you take a draconian stand on something like turbans... while simultaneously ceding large urban areas of the country to the Car-B-Q crowd?

Do they vote... do they hold a seance?

Palestinian teenagers attacked a bus carrying a small group of Canadians and threw rocks at police.

The bus was carrying vacationing Canadians on a tour of the Mount of Olives holy site in east Jerusalem.
