My wife's grandfather, a member of the Canadian Cyclist Battalion, (pictured, in the kilt) was wounded by German shelling and carried around shrapnel from WWI for the rest of his life.

And he was one of the lucky ones who got to come back and have a family and live out a long, productive and rewarding life. Two of my grandfather's brothers were killed, one in Belgium and one in France.

Apparently racial purity can be "grandfathered."

Well, technically they are all descendants of Americans, forced out of the Mohawk Valley in New York by non-aboriginal countrymen and relocated by the British to reservations north of the 49th parallel.

There were all kinds of non-aboriginal folk already settled in Upper and Lower Canada before the reservations were established.

Lessons not learned

In a city of two and a half million people, the odds are pretty good you're not gonna get snuffed on any given day. So what are the chances one family hits the trifecta?

Call me provincial, but in my five plus decades on this planet, I don't even know one person who has been murdered.

As for the fatalistic takeaway about "invincibility"... that these murders were somehow inevitable, out of anyone's hands, that no-one could have done anything to prevent even one of them... that is, at minimum, willful ignorance.

You ever notice, if the shooter isn't a cop... it's a whole different narrative? No screaming accusations. No arson. No looting. Just business as usual.

Oh yeah, one small correction here. She didn't lose three kids to "GUNS"... she lost three kids to homicidal thugs who thrive in a subculture of predation, misogyny and arrogant lawlessness.

The Security Service Employees Association requested last year that they be armed when working outside the Parliament buildings.

The association said there would be an expectation from parliamentarians, the RCMP and the public that guards would respond in the event of a security crisis, but without guns, guards would not be able to respond to any armed attack that put lives at risk.

And how did the bureaucracy respond?

In a letter to the association dated Oct. 28, 2013, however, Commons Clerk Audrey O’Brien denied the request. Security Constables were told instead to “retreat” and let the RCMP handle any threat.

Told to retreat. That seems to be an all-too-common refrain in Canada these days. Like telling our soldiers not to wear their uniforms in public.

The trouble with playing the race card is that it's usually more emotional than evidentiary... from Skip Gates to Trayvon to "gentle giant" Michael Brown, the Whitehouse has been consistently misreading the table...

As the official autopsy report obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch demonstrates, Brown was shot in the hand at close range—with gunpowder residue in the wound. Both findings seem to buttress Wilson’s contention that there was a struggle over the officer’s pistol.

Additionally, a forensic pathologist interviewed by the paper noted that “the autopsy did not support witnesses who have claimed Brown was shot while running away from Wilson, or with his hands up.”

When the grand jury comes back "no-bill" on Officer Darren Wilson, the smart money anticipates it will result in yet another round of burning and looting and personal violence.

All the verifiable evidence will take a weak second place to the media-inspired fairy story that an innocent man was murdered by a racist police officer.

We are all to blame here because we tolerate this injustice. Not the perceived injustice of CNN and their media brethren... but the rigged table that refuses to accept the politically incorrect truth about the perjured witness testimony that framed an innocent police officer in such a terrible light.

The real monsters here are the race-hustlers who stirred up the violence after Michael Brown died... and who will no doubt, do it again when Officer Wilson is officially cleared. Their accomplices are the weak-minded "professional" journalists who bend with the mob instead of pursuing the facts.
