The struggle to modernise...

...a medieval theocracy...will of allah

'Historic day' as Jordanian parliament repeals rape law. Provision that allows rapists to escape punishment if they marry their victims has been abolished by the (lower house only) parliament.

Such rape-marriage provisions continue to exist in Algeria, Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine and Syria.
Don't pull out the party burkas just yet... it still has to get past the upper house of parliament.

Police in the southern Swedish province of Småland say at least four teenage girls between the ages of 15 and 17 were raped at the Emmaboda Festival over the weekend. Organisers announced the cancellation of the 2018 festival saying that despite their best efforts they were unable to stop the continued sex attacks.

According to reports, the number of sex attacks at Swedish music festivals has increased by as much as 1,000 per cent in 2016 and the trend has shown little sign of change.

Trudeau and the current Liberal government are trying to repeal the only criminal code section (Section 176) that serves as a deterrent against willfully interrupting, stopping or breaking up a faith assembly including baptisms, mass, funerals, and many other religious assemblies.

A petition has been launched, calling on the Liberal government to stop its efforts at repealing this protection for religious freedom. I encourage you to sign the petition! Access the petition here – www.keep176.ca

the city council in the australian vacation venue of bondi has just refused an application from the jewish community to build a new synagogue... citing the security risk if some unnamed group... lutherans, mennonites?... decided to attack the building.
