A man was shot by police after stabbing his father and then confronting officers with a knife in Scarborough Friday.**********
Officers encountered a knife-wielding man while responding to a stabbing just after 4 p.m. at a house on Laurel Ave., near Midland and Danforth Aves., Toronto Police said.
Neighbours claimed the man lunged at officers and three shots were fired. The younger man was rushed to the trauma centre Sunnybrook hospital with life-threatening injuries.
