SHE QUALIFIED ON THE CRJ200... AND THAT'S AN IMPORTANT FACTOR...

-- "If she recently switched to the 900 from the 200 that could be a factor.   They land very differently because the 200 doesn’t have slats. The approach pitch attitude on the 200 is nose down because of the lack of slats and therefore the sight picture is different in the round out and flare.   I want to know why the captain didn’t intervene.   She will likely be retrained and captain downgraded." --

Kalen Schlatter was sexually aroused by choking women and confessed to a sex partner “he didn’t feel comfortable strangling her" because he had difficulty gauging his own strength and restraining himself.

The jury that is now deciding whether Schlatter committed first-degree murder by sexually assaulting and strangling 22-year-old Tess Richey on Nov. 25, 2017, never heard any of this evidence.

Trial judge Justice Michael Dambrot ruled the choking evidence and violent porn on Schlatter’s cellphone too prejudicial.

Canada saw a major jump — 14 per cent over the last five years — in the number of medical items left inside patients after procedures, according to a study released Thursday.

CIHI said 553 such objects were left inside patients over the last two years.

A foreign body — sponges, needles, clamps, scissors, etc. — is left inside a patient in Canada 9.8 times out of every 100,000 surgeries. That's three times the average.

The United States and its allies in the Nato military alliance never disclose the locations of the nuclear arsenal but it appears the six sites have inadvertently disclosed by Canadian Senator Joseph Day.

Tijuana two-step

TEPATEPEC, Mexico (AP) — For more than 100 years, most of what gets flushed down Mexico City's toilets has resurfaced two hours to the north in the rivers and reservoirs of the rural Mezquital Valley. A massive new water treatment plant is about to change this.

But rather than welcoming the prospect of cleaner water, angry farmers are demanding the government honor an 1895 presidential decree granting them the right to the capital's untreated sewage, which they see as fertilizer-rich, if foul, irrigation water.

In late 2015, Vice-Adm. Norman went public with his concerns that Canadians had not been given accurate information about the growing price of planned new warships. He told CBC-TV in December, 2015, that it could cost $30-billion – twice as much as budgeted. His warning left open the possibility that Canada could have to buy fewer or less-capable ships unless Ottawa allocated more money for them.

CBC guilty of aiding & abetting?

Halton police have arrested a man they say collected more than $40,000 in sponsorships for an anti-bullying program he never delivered.

The 44-year-old was supposed to present his anti-bullying program to more than 30 schools in Hamilton and Halton, police say. He operated his company as "Be the Game" and "Kind Every Time."
That's weird, this CBC article forgot to mention who the man behind this company is. What could possibly stop... wait a minute...
Joe Drexler's program has been featured on Canada AM, Canadian Living Magazine, CBC Radio and many other main stream media outlets across North America.

Dear Toronto Star...

That's a pretty bold statement... especially in light of the fact that you then, professionally & journalistically, choose not to identify the cough, cough... "community" in question.
A trend known as “community guns” accounts in part for the level of gun violence in the city.
Of course, they're not shy about the "sky is falling" lede...
The latest crime numbers from Toronto police show Ross’ death is part of a larger spike in gun violence citywide. Shooting events are up 34 per cent, up from 92 to 122, over this time last year, and shooting victims are up 78 per cent.
Ah, shootings "citywide."

I guess we're talking about the community of man.

Burying the lede?

How far will your average politically correct "professional journalist" go... not to mention the "M" word?

Pretty far, it seems... although there's apparently some compelling reason to bring real-estate agents into the blood-soaked, medieval mix.what's muslim got to do with it
The Crown prosecutor told court that although media reports at the time described the attacks as a family “honour crime”, nothing in the case file supports that theory.
Nothing you say? Seriously?

Okay, let's get it out there... this guy is, as Licia Corbella would say, "not one of us."

What's that you say... too harsh?

I'm afraid I'll have to disagree. Vehemently. Cutting bits off a family pet, never mind your daughter... puts you squarely on the sociopathological end of the parental discipline continuum. (Hmmm... cutting bits off women... that actually sounds kind of familiar, but for now let's get back to the matter at hand).
His wife and daughter had just returned from his daughter’s new apartment. The father had never agreed that his eldest daughter, 20, could move out. And when she said her father no longer controlled her life, he said that in fact he did and slapped her across the face.
You listen to folks like Justin Trudeau, Ottawa is Progressia Central. I get that modern parents may have moved past traditional western sanctions like spanking and grounding... but this guy seems to have picked up his parenting chops (pun intended) from, and I'm just guessing here, the 11th century.
He then grabbed a butcher knife from the kitchen and slashed his daughter in the shoulder. When she tried to grab it to stop the attack, her right pinky finger was severed and her ring finger partially severed.
Our "professional" scribe apparently can't quite bring himself to label this attempted murder... and instead shifts over to the passive tense.
His wife suffered severe defensive wounds to... to her skull.
Translation... this, uh... real-estate agent tried to stab his wife in the brain.

My favourite part in this rainbows and unicorn farts narrative is when the our intrepid reporter attempts to portray Samaurai Dad as the victim.
The father, who cries himself to sleep most nights at the Innes Road jail, pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of aggravated assault in a plea bargain with the Crown that spared him prosecution on the more severe charges of attempted murder.
If I had anything to say about this guy's current living arrangements, I'd see him betrothed to the rabid maddog biker enforcer with the most cigarettes.

Remember, this all started with this allegedly typical Ottawa Dad seeing an online photograph of his 20 year-old daughter (not, as you might have imagined from his response, cavorting with meth-crazed S&M enthusiasts) posing with the university Glee club.

murder, he wroteThat's right, the licentious, libertine Glee Club. So, apologies to the Crown prosecuter, but given the context, I'd hazard a guess that this guy's background and religious beliefs have more to do with his behaviour than, say... his chosen occupation.

As the war-weary cop used to say in the old Dragnet series... "Just the facts, ma'am."

TORONTO - Any claim that senior political staff in the Dalton McGuinty government innocently erased their emails “strains credulity,” Ontario information and privacy commissioner Dr. Ann Cavoukian says.

New Democrat MPP Peter Tabuns complained to Cavoukian’s office after learning that internal emails, including those related to cancelled gas plants in Mississauga and Oakville, were wiped clean after the departure of staff. The cost of cancelling and relocating the two plants has climbed to at least $585 million, after an initial pricetag of $230 million.

“Not only have they been deleted, but the deleted would have been deleted, and somebody would have gone to great pains to destroy the backup as well.”

Cavoukian said she’ll go into much greater detail in the report which will be released in June.
So, the Liberals pissed away 600 million taxpayer dollars... AND THEN tried to cover it up. No wonder Dalton bailed.

High infant mortality among First Nations could partly account for Canada's poor ranking. While data on the subject is sparse, a 2010 study in the Canadian Journal of Public Health notes infant mortality for Quebec babies born of Inuit mothers was 23.1 deaths per 1,000, compared to 5.1 for Canadians in general.

The worst country in the entire world for first-day deaths is Somalia, where 18 per 1,000 babies never see a second day.
